Actually, I believe that was Moggy who said that. But yes, it's always been that way and always will be. The game can change, but human nature can't. You can't stop the river of tears, you can only divert it to different subjects.
Anyway, the reason for the B-24 is ToD. ToD will be starting off primarily with a lot of 8th AF vs Luftwaffe action and therefore the heavy bomber will be central to that. The B-17 is very graphically dated since it was one of the first planes made and it had to be made under very restrictive condititions due to the system specs at the time. So we wanted something better to launch ToD. Our choice would be a B-24 or to redo the 17. The 17 is a plane that we are better off redoing from scratch rather than giving it an overhaul. Because we haven't had any new planes in quite awhile, we opted for the new plane.
