Actually, I believe that was Moggy who said that.  But yes, it's always been that way and always will be.  The game can change, but human nature can't.  You can't stop the river of tears, you can only divert it to different subjects.

Anyway, the reason for the B-24 is ToD.  ToD will be starting off primarily with a lot of 8th AF vs Luftwaffe action and therefore the heavy bomber will be central to that.  The B-17 is very graphically dated since it was one of the first planes made and it had to be made under very restrictive condititions due to the system specs at the time.  So we wanted something better to launch ToD.  Our choice would be a B-24 or to redo the 17.  The 17 is a plane that we are better off redoing from scratch rather than giving it an overhaul.  Because we haven't had any new planes in quite awhile, we opted for the new plane.

I think ToD has to be Jesus...

Everyone talks about it... everyone belives in it... no one has seen it..

I really hope that ToD will show more then just US vs Ger fights... because to be honest west front action is kind of booring... well its not booring but at least I have played it so much that Id rather see some east front action...

My whish list for combat theatres in ToD is (in order Im lookin forward to em):

1. East Front
2. Desert Front
3. Pacific Front
4. West Front

Must be.  How could it be anything other than bias to first do the most produced multi-engine plane in history over a maritime patrol plane of which less than 300 were built?

I see that the delusions about the Condor continue.

And the He111 would have added less to AH, by far, than the B-24.  The He111 would simply duplicate the Ju88A-4 the same way the B-24J duplicates the B-17G, but unlike the B-24J it would have seen next to no use in the MA.
