I hope Kerry wins just to watch the whining and crying on this board. Especially after a recount or two. LOL

Just a history refresher...

Quote
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A comprehensive study of the 2000 presidential election in Florida suggests that if the U.S. Supreme Court had allowed a statewide vote recount to proceed, Republican candidate George W. Bush would still have been elected president.

The National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago conducted the six-month study for a consortium of eight news media companies, including CNN.

In releasing the report, the consortium said it is in no way trying to rewrite history or challenge the official result -- that Bush won Florida by 537 votes. Rather it is simply trying to bring some additional clarity to one of the most confusing chapters in U.S. politics.

...

Suppose that Gore got what he originally wanted -- a hand recount in heavily Democratic Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Volusia counties. The study indicates that Gore would have picked up some additional support but still would have lost the election -- by a 225-vote margin statewide.

Worst of it is that if Kerry wins, the O'club is gonna be even more cluttered with Bush fans whining about everything Kerry does (unless some foregin guy says something bad about him that is)

Whatever happens... sanity looses.

So Bush won by 500 or 200 odd votes? Out of a population of how many millions? What's that deciding vote as a percentage?

2000 was a joke and the whole world was laughing.

He doesn't look like he's laughing.

Just after this picture was taken, I told him a joke about a country with more sheep than people and he was rolling on the hut floor.

we are not Spain and the terrorist know this

an attack between now and Nov2 would result in a 100% Republican victory

Yes, a joke...

Maybe we should have given Florida's electoral votes to Al Gore. Never mind that he lost that state, but at least the world wouldnt think its funny that we actually follow our election laws..

The 2000 election was a brilliant display that our system works. We had a very close, disputed election. We took it to the legal system and it was resolved in time for the next president to take offiice as scheduled... No riots, no shootings, no civil war no crisis of succesion, no stoppage of government, no disription ofg services etc... None of that...  The system worked...

Gee whiz Holden McGroin, you trying to burst the bubble of delusion some choose to live in?  They want to put their beliefs in rhetoric, not fact.  Shame on you for trying to shed the light of reality in their groggy eyes.  ;)

yep... what should we have done?  throw out all the rules because it was close?  because the liberal socialists in other countries didn't like the outcome?

playing by the rules.... Bush won.   every study since that time by the losers and the winners shows this to be true.

The only election that was ever "stolen" that is sure is the former JFK's... he stole the election... he did not win.

Lazs you asked

What do you foreign guys think?

It doesn't matter what we think. The US will do what it wants regardless. We had an empire that did much the same thing once upon a time. It all ended probably quite rightly, as will the great American empire.
What I do think is that you guys need a government that doesn't have the israelis in their back pocket. Then maybe there wouldn't be much need for this so called war on (arab) terror.

Its worth remembering that we have been fighting our own war on terror for a long time. A terror that some of our special relationship buddies in the US actualy supported and paid for! we kind of know all about terrorism and its reasons and effects.

Its a complicated world. I'm not necessarily right its just my opinion.

Whatever happens on your side of the pond, remember might isn't always right! We learned that the hard way.
