Speaking of big beamers have you tried the new R1200GS? I had one for the afternoon a few weeks ago and It's amazing on real roads and twisties. Especially if the roads are bumpy very quick bike. Great clearence,handling and torque. One of the most fun bikes I've ever ridden on the road or dirt and seriously thinking about buying one. It's good at everything from touring,twisties,gravel and fire trails.

Never really been into beemers but the new GS is an amazing bike, the 1150GS was good but this is so much better. And probably one of the best all round bikes on the market today.

Haven't driven new ones; K100RS was newest (and R35 oldest...). That wasn't as nimble as GSX-R but it was much more comfortable at highways; it was like a train and didn't need any "driving". Heh actually it was quite boring bike; it was so pleasant to drive with plenty of torque from down low due the fuel injection

btw... Has BMW learnt to build turn-light switches yet?

Next to our clubhouse is two MC-clubs and we've had fun drinking and using our club's sauna; even if guys are driving HDs they can also enjoy "racers" and even Russian Zündapp/BMW copies (crappiest bikes you can imagine).
Then again they are Bikers and not "bikers"

That 1200 bandit with the glowing pipes is hillarious. Few years ago a group of us went to Brands Hatch for the WSB. Back in the Foggy era. Some guys there had C50 motors on welded up stands, taped the throttlles wide open and waited to see what happened. The bang was very big. Heard a guy playing tunes with a Duke at Spa Francorchamps one year too. He was hitting the rev limiter and using the kill switch to cause backfires as percussion. Not something I'd do with my engine but entertaining to watch/listen.

My specialty used to stunting but that was when I was younger crazier, and my bikes were the matt black knackered cheap as sh*t variety. I've too much metal in me and the bikes are way more expensive nowadays.

I been following the thread, and have ridden bikes since I was 9 years old, and I average 45,000 Km a year on a bike. If Jackal1 is a "real biker" then I am glad I am not, because Jackal1, you sir are an ASS.
