Any Bikers in here?

"So is this why we're posting on a BBS dedicated to a game flying vintage fighters? I geuss I should be playing Lock On or Falcon 4 "

WW2 fighters are piston engined as are fast motorcycles. I don't know of a jet powered street bike apart from that mental turbine thing.

Gixer ,Matt black is practical. You just spray over the dirt! and you stop worrying about every little mark!

Jackal1 you are crazy!

60's style chops dont handle, stretch you into the shape of a raggedy a*sed baboon, can't go more than 50 without tying themselves in knots and in the main were criminal ruinations of classic british bikes. Theres nothing worse than seeing a butchered bonnie or BSA.

Would you realy want to ride the wobbly bloody stretched out thing round europe?

Maybe if you had ten years to do it in and an osteopath at every stopping point! Ah the rosy tinted memories of old age eh mate!?

 :lol

Well *** me running. You mean I`ve been confused for damn near 43 years I`ve been doing this chit.
You prove that you haven`t got a fricken clue about bikes or bikers bud. No harm intended it`s just a fact.
If you say a `60s chop don`t handle  it proves one thing....You don`t know Jack watermelon what your talking about.
Throwing them babies through the winding mountain roads in The Black Hills is the ultimate. You bring one of them ring diinggers around there and you`d get laughed all the way back to the boat. :)
I think someone should rename this thread to maybe..umm 2 Wheel Enthusiats or some watermelon because so far there have been very few bikers post here. Most don`t even speak the fricken language. There`s a hell of a lot of difference between riding something you call a motorcycle and being a biker. A big, big difference.

LOL this is news to me.

Look it's very simple really.
Some people like sport bikes and some people prefer the cruisers.

Hey I love the speed and technology behind a good sport bike.
But at my age and size 6'4" and 250lbs I am better suited on a cruiser.

To each his own.
The only real problem I have is seeing very young novice riders on a sportbike with out a skid lid!

Seen way too many in the ER and on the road.

But other thatn that hey have fun and be safe.

But do remember when riding a motorcycle wether its on the street or dirt is not a question of IF you are going to crash but more of WHEN.

It will happen I promise you so just be ready for it.

Yea, and most Yupster "motorcyclsts' have their head stuck so far up their *** they couldn`t tell which way the wind was blowing from their own farts. Also most wouldn`t help each other if their feet were on fire. They also usualy stay far, far away from bikers because they fear something they have no knowledge of. They couldn`t spell brotherhood with a Big Chief pad and a marksalot.

OH... on the other hand a biker damn sure wouldn`t go into a cold sweat panic concerning disposale of a few Lilac branchs. ..... :rofl

Jackle1

I've heard this "bikers v motorcyclist" argument before. To me a biker is a guy who rides a motorcycle, Knows how to repair and maintain the thing, spends most of his free time leisure time with the things, and uses the thing all year round as far as possible. In essence a guy or a girl who lives and breathes the things. I've met many of what you call a Biker. Big mean looking, got the beard, the jacket with the patches rockers etc spends his whole life talking about some project bike or other he's building but you never see him on the bloody thing. It gets to the point where your not sure if these guys even have a bike. In my experience most of these bikers are not bikers as I understand it at all. they are people who's uniform, image, and lifestyle is more important than the bike  !

LOL Yep, I allready knew what your definition was. I`ve explained that to ya. Like I said, you don`t even speak the language bud. You have no clue.

Heehee...errrrr....ummmm ....... It`s not what "I" call one way or the other . It just is bud. It`s something I`m quite sure you will never understand.

I think you like a lot of other people have based opinions on grade B movies , etc. The rest of it scares you so bad you won`t ever get close to it. Freedom always scares the pure watermelon out of most people. Most people are told how to think, what is acceptable, how to act, what to say and when to say it. They are comfortable with that and anything else has to be wrong. Why? Because it scares the crap out of most to fuggin think for themselves.
I  owned and ran Southern Iron Biker Supply. I was at at least one biker run a week, sometimes two. ( Note I said "biker run", not motorcyclist event:) ) If I wasn`t at one, I was getting ready to go to one.
I can tell you for a fact that these are some of the best people without a doubt. If you walk the walk and don`t just talk the talk you would understand this.
Bud, these people stick together like friggen glue. There is no fair weather BS. If one has a prob, all has a prob and everyone does whatever it takes to get things straight. Someone has financial, medical, legal, whatever kind of problems, everyone will pitch in to get what needs to be done straightened out.
Bikers are generous to a fault. At any biker run you will find some hard partying and a lot of spending going on in general, but if you really want to see what it`s all about just let someone get sick or hurt or loose a home, etc. Then things really get to shaking. Someone throws a benefit run and it is a sight to behold. The wallet is open from the start to the finish. We have paid hosptal bills, medical bills, funeral services, bought school supplies for kids, built, roofed or repaired homes, etc, etc. The list could go on and on. The very first to give or help when no one else will. I`ve seen it and lived over and over. I`ve done it over and over and damn sure don`t regret one minute of it.
On the other hand if you`re  stupid enough or dumb enough to think you are going to mess with one, then you are going to get a free preview to hell. It`s called Brotherhood my friend. Something you don`t or will never know, experience or understand.
Myself and my wife were on the road weekly, every week, to these runs. That was my life and I loved it. I had to get off the road initialy due to my wife being diagnosed with cancer, then I got my neck screwed up. I miss it to NO end. Why? Because I was guaranteed that every run I made that there was going to be people there that spoke the same language as myself. There was no BS in other words. One wasn`t always trying to get over on the other, etc. No fake, fair weather fugheads.
As a last comment, I`d like to ask you to read the last lines of your last post.
Now try to understand this. What you described there is called a WANNABE. Big, big, big difference. That`s what I mean by you don`t have a clue.

Fortunately I beat the rap on that one.  The guy in the booth did have a chopped Harley, pony tail, scruffy jeans and a black leather jacket though.

My motorcycle these days has 100 hp, no fairing and cruises at around 100 kph. ;)

Jackal, just because you've got mates doesn't mean you're any more of a biker than anyone else.

I've been riding since 1991.  A qualified motorcycle instructor since 1994.  A proud member of the Wolves Outlaws Motorcycle Club since 1993.   And I've never owned anything but sportsbikes.

So don't you dare try to tell me I'm not a real biker just because I prefer a machine with the performance of a Ferrari rather than some old clunker based on 1950s tractor technology.

How about I piss on your shoes and tell you it's raining?

What you ride doesn't matter.  How you ride doesn't matter.  It's the fact that you ride that matters.  And if you actually believed this 'brotherhood' tripe you're spewing you'd know it applies to every other bike rider on the planet, not just the ones you think are cool.

You've obviously got a chip on your shoulder about sportsbike riders, well fine, you carry on mate.  Just be aware that we don't feel the same way about you just because you choose to dress differently and ride something more comfortable than what I'm riding.  We're not that shallow.

gixer you are not getting it at all..  I tell you that a streetbike is not even close to competitive with single purpose race bikes so you are a pretender when you are riding a pretend race bike and to prove me wrong.... you post pics of.... race bikes.   You ride that sidecar rig around town much?   LOL  the real racers wear neon and look like a rolling commercial so you gotta do it too?

pretenders and silly looking wanna be's  Same for accountants on their weekend Harley tho.

160hp was just an example.   If we are simply talking about hp and torque you still lose to the cruisers.... Boss hog is 502 hp in stock trim and over 500 ft lbs of torque.  Not enough?   they are building a V10 viper powered one too.

race?  you can't keep up on the worlds fastest dirt flattrack.. the mile... those old tractors are still doing pretty well... and speedway (do they have that there?) racing... that is using some pretty old stuff.

If they dump the silly helmet law or I move I might build another bike tho.

I juat think it is silly to see all these pretend racers running around killing themselves.   They can't have any fun on the damn things unless they are breaking the law and they can't compete with real racers on a track.   It is just phony.

maybe you bought it just in case an international spy ring needs to be thwarted and your country is needs you to help as the only human capable of doing all those cool motorcycle stunts?   Or maybe... the dumb bimbo down the street will think you are just riding it to the track.
