Yet another example of how it's ok to be racist as long as your not white.  If this were a black man or if the group was the "National Association of White Social Worker" the NAACP and ACLU would be all over this.

KGET-TV in California reports that a white social worker who wanted to attend a meeting of the National Association of Black Social Workers was told he was not welcome because of his skin pigment.

Bakersfield, Calif., social worker Brain Parnell wanted to attend the New Orleans meeting along with five of his colleagues because he often works with minority children. When he tried to enter, however, he was turned away.


"I approached the registration table and was greeted by a very friendly fellow who looked me in the eye and said, 'Are you black?'" said Parnell. "I told him that I'm not and he told me that the conference was only for people who were black and so I wasn't able to register to attend the conference."

"I was shocked," said Parnell. "I was surprised that in 2005, I could be singled out because of the color of my skin."

New Orleans can be a dangerous place.  Haven't been there in 15 years, and I live 2 hours away.  Too many dangerous parts of town to blunder into.  Don't go there if you don't know your way around.

Only in this day and age can Blacky tell Whitey that Whitey can't join Blaky's club.

Discrimination is obviously only if WHITEY does something to BLACKY.

no it's not OK.  I've heard all my life about the civil rights movement and how whity is evil and trying to keep minorities poor and how white people are so bad then I read this.  It infuriates me.

Try being white born in Africa and have a black coworker file an HR complaint because you call your self a White African American. To make matters worse you ask him where he was born. He says Oakland CA. I tell him where I was born. Africa.

He says it dosent matter where I was born because I'm white, and calling myself African American is racism. On a lighter note, this is the same moron who has had 3 motorcycles stolen from his garage by young black males in 6 months. So now he thinks he needs to move to a white gated neigborhood.
