However, the things posted in this thread, and in many others claiming that white people are losing their civil rights are just laughable. Overall, white people continue to be treated better in our society than black people or brown people or even asian people.

In general (please note those two words for future reference) white people don't need to worry about being pulled over for driving in the wrong neighborhood. In general white people are more likely to be given a job, or an apartment, or even have a check cashed. In general white people are more likely to be promoted, earn more and be taken at their word. In general racism still weighs heavily in favor of the white man.

I hope this all changes, and maybe we are on the way to equality. Cool. But not there yet.

yep mt.. all that is correct about white people... In fact... I am ten times more likely to want to associate with white people now than I was 10 years ago... so long as your ilk pass off racism as equality I can only see things getting worse.

who will take a chance of offending a black these days?  better to simply leave them out.  Why would you rent to a black?  About the dumbest thing you could do.   You would be seen as the evil white landlord by every court in the land if there was ever a dispute.

That is the "equality" that you espouse.   that is the kind of "fairness" that will keep the races distrusting and hating forever.

As long as everyone has equal rights,not one penny of tax dollars should go to "Pride Parades"..It should be illegal to waste YOUR money on them...So until gays get equal rights I fully support funding for their parades.

And as for private clubs being able to discriminate...Why not? Don't fit in? Don't join.

Several years ago a local Moose lodge refused membership to a black guy.It was pretty much known that this was a white establishment.They paid their dues,got someone to sponsor them and joined.This black guy sued.Instead of letting him join the entire club closed up.It was a huge place and thriving but they stood their ground.I wont even begin to start telling you what happened to each and every downtown bar in Hagerstown Md.Not long after this place closed down whites tried to go to whats called the Black Elks club.They were run off the property.Nobody ever said squat about it.Its still,20 years later a black only club and theres no white guy walking into that place unless he works for the health dept doing an inspection.Whitey gets the red carpet then.Double standards.Gotta love em.

sirloin... that is an interesting take...  You say that if there is an inequality that the taxpayer should support that groups activities?  Doesn't that in itself create an inequality?

How do you know when things are equal enough that the funding can stop?   Who decides?  certainly not those who have to pay for it all?

Some of you guys are actually saying that it is allright for a white social club to golf course etc.. to base admission on color or religion?  is that correct?   That is fine with me.  How bout the right to serve whoever you want or rent to whoever you want?

I think that Andy Roony post that went around way back summed it up nicely on the inbalance of this subject. If there were white versions of Cloud and Jet magazine,NAACP Black pride month et all,there would be screams of racism to no end.Now by all means,tell me Im mistaken.Not being what would be concidered a racist,unless hateing every living breathing thing on this planet applies,I dont have time to break everyone into little groups.I dispise everyone equaly regardless of color,creed or relegion.Save a few that showed usefull traits.I will say this tho,the blacks seem to be the first to show hypocracy when it comes to the racist attitudes involved with the afore mentioned subjects.
