No, I'm no more a Communist than you are a Facist.
I'm a Liberal.
I intensly dislike GRUNHERZ's insinuation that those of us on the left side of the political spectrum are traitors.
Right-wing fanatics have attempted to claim all things American as theirs and then label all those who disagree with them as unAmerican and unpatriotic, if not calling them outright traitors.
They ignore the proud tradition of American Liberals putting themselves in harms way for their beliefs in freedom and equality in favor of only seeing the man who wears his patriotism on his sleeve as willing to put himself in the line of fire.
Those who espouse this have done America a disservice.
Now, when we should be united, those same people are bringing up the shade of McArthyism and trying to devide us. Trying to say "Those Liberals are not real Americans!" That is a bunch of roadkill.
I would not consider the guy who shot the Sikh, because he wore a turban, in Arizona to represent Conservatives and I expect that Americans would not consider this piece of trash in the news article to represent Liberals. However, GRUNHERZ insinuates just that in the title of this thread. He goes on to claim that this is representative of the Bay Area and how much he "diddlying hates" us. If that isn't an attack I don't know what is.
I too live in the Bay Area. I have seen one protest against violence by about twenty people. One. These people weren't out there in support of the Taliban. They were out there because they wanted peace. That is their right because this is America not Afganistan. I have not heard any sympathy for the Taliban expressed here in the Bay Area, just sympathy for civilians.
