The length of time Bish spend in the bucket during this point in the cycle of fluxing balance is directly proportional to how they cope, re-act, act, behave and adapt to it. The more lil' chickens that keep screaming, "The sky is falling", rather than just calmly and deliberately doing everything they can to turn things around for Bish the longer Bish will remain sucking hind teet.

If he doesnt really care if we have those stats...i sure dont. Its really not that important.

Have one question.

Does server automatically assign new players to Bish, or it is random process?
May be I am wrong but it seems that Bishs are less experienced pilots than Knights in average (I am flying for Rooks so can say nothing about Rooks).

FWIW, I'd support some changes in perkage or ENY or field operations or whatever if it meant that a side that's down by 50 players had a reason to take off. It is no fun to log in and see you're down to 10 fields and 7 of them are being vultched already.

But ...

Any kinds of changes would need to also address the ways people are currently  "coping" with being outnumbered. Endless pork-running. Spying on missions with shade accounts. Deliberate ramming.

The level of idiocy is reaching epic proportions.

HiTech posted on this issue a few years ago. It's not random, it's determined by HTC. They determne which country new players are sent to depending on numerical factors they have available. I didn't go looking for the ancient post, this is what I recall HiTech saying, maybe he can come in and clarify if this is incorrect...But, in any event new players are not always sent to Bish, my wife's account defaulted to Knights, and my Zazen account defaulted to Rooks, both were outnumbered countries at the time of the subscription start.

I know what you mean about being discouraged by being outnumbered like that, but there are measures that can be taken.

If you're outnumbered how else can you effectively respond than by porking the opposition?  It's part of how the game was designed.  That's why they're called "strats", isn't it?  Strategic targets?

Interesting... If I recall my lectures about automatic control systems well it should produce astable process with period of oscillations equals to the  time of "become newbie an average pilot". Or half of that time, can't recall.

The barracks at one base in a realistic context are not "strategic." They're operational at best. In AH2, though, they end up having strategic effect as one lone goober in a Tiffy can more or less halt 20 or 30 people, and it's almost impossible to stop such a Kamikaze.

Lets not make it into more than it is - because people pork stuff regardless of the odds simply because they can. And because in many cases they suck so bad they can't do much else and the current design has given them a way to disrupt the activities of a lot of people through a virtually skill-less tactic.

There are many ways to respond to bad odds. And sometimes just taking an hour or so off is the way - wait for the map to reset so you won't be getting vultched everywhere. 25 perks is pretty trivial, as has been pointed out you can earn that in one or two flights defending the base in something like an La5.

I got 25 in a 109F-4 last night with the perk modifier at .79. I have never understood why 25 perks was such a huge motivator.

I'd rather be proactive than defeatist.  If leaving the game to be won by the other team is the right way, I don’t want to be right.  I’ll pork the other countries to the stone age to assist my side.  I do it for effect, not to disturb others.  Denigrate it all you want, it’s an effective tactic and strategy.

While people may pork for different reasons, it does not mean those targets that are porked don’t have strategic value.  Call them what you will, barracks are in fact a strategic target the way this game is set up.  We play in a virtual world and in this context the real world is a moot point.

It isnt. thers have siad it and i couldnt have been more true if God himself said so. ppl switch to be on the "Winning" side. Its human nature really. No one can deny this fact if they are being honest.
Guess im not human :D

The point is 'winning' for most people in the game isn't winning the resets. "Winning" for most people is enjoying good fights and having fun. Being on the defensive is far more conducive to 'winning thru fun-factor' than being on  the steamrolling side.

Steamrolling  = BIG YAWN....El Boringo

Defensive = Non-stop targets and non-stop action if you play accordingly.

Very few people actually switch sides. Check the roster next time a reset is near, I challenge you to find more than 5 people that switched just prior to reset. The more common thing is for people of the beleugered team to simply log-off, which further exacerbates the numerical disparity.

Well those are some damn nice rationalizations.

The ease of barracks and ordinance porking allows one unskilled player way, way too much influence on the flow of the arena. What cracks me up is to see enemy Tiffies and La7's pass right over unescorted bombers to go pork a field. Maybe instead of having 4 or 5 people out in space trying to suicide themselves onto a toolshed they could, like, you know, shoot at the enemy planes coming in instead.

32 Bish switched to Rooks in the last 7 days for sure. Two squads. They weren't having fun and blamed the Bishop for it. I cant say i blame them really...its just what they felt they needed to do and ill wish em well.
I agree about the switching sides just "Prior" to reset. But it really depends on your definition of "prior" A Hoard is seen for many hours prior to a reset and is easy to predict 3, 4 or even 5 hrs in advance. Ill bet your more wrong than you realize as far as side switching to be in the winning team. While your "Prior might be 1 hr...mine is more like 6hrs. From about early evening 4:00 PMish till about 10:00pm
