as this thread hinted about canada.......

would like to mention ..canada joined the war 3 days after the
brits and although not much is said about the canadians
they made quite an impact on the war for a country with
such a small population.

pretty much wrote the book on effective convoys and anti u-boat
tatics. had the 4th largest navy in the world by the end of the war
(although most ships were cargo )

gained a fearsome reputation as some of the toughest soldiers
in the conflict. (when there was a particularly stubborn target
alot of times it was the canadians who were sent in).

at any rate although i was born 20 years after the war ended
i get choked up and teary eyed when i think of all those brave
men who made the ultimate sacrifice (no matter what allied
country they were from).
Addicted since tour 62.
news in game.

Canadian military was a force to be reckoned with in WWII before the Americans got involved, now they suffer from years of Liberal cutbacks to the point that now they're an embarrasment as a fighting force. I feel sorry for the men and woman that endure todays shortfalls :(

take the supperbowl, combine it with the Indy 500, and Nascar. then multiply it by 100 and you have the scale and following of the world cap, ie. the entire world, including I must say, a formidable US team this year.

ENGERRR LAAAANNNDDDD!!!

while watching the Band of Brothers series, the last one IIRC when they were interviewing the actual surviving members, it was Dick Winters (I think?) when his grandson asked him if he was a hero in the war he said, “no, but I served in a company of heroes”.

Not afraid to say that moved me to tears.

First Paragraph

Yes think about the canadians being the only ones sent to Dieppe and we had one of the hardest beaches on D-Day. Think of that...

Second Paragraph

No ****e. And Dick Winters put tears in my eyes when he said Company of Heroes too
