This is the only game. Its a very lean system (Critical workstation) so it isnt messed with.

I am trying what Pymeia said to do and deleting the contents of the settings folder.

I didnt make any changes to sound levels since the game was installed and have played this game for 2 years so its something somewhere that is hosed, registry something. report back after trying the deleting settings folder content

Keegan if you have nothing else to test your sounds with, you can't rule out the possibility of hardware failure. It may have nothing to do with Aces High.

Did you try to reinstall sound drivers? Did you try that all your wires are plugged properly? Did you check your speakers work?

Oh man, ENGINE SOUNDS look at the title.

I am cancelling my membership. I have emailed them and received a

Have you rebooted?

Duh! I mention in the email I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted and THAT IS ALL THEY ASK.

Hitech fielding support questions in ma chat, I ask him a question two diffferent times that name is int here and each time ignored.

Whatever, see ya AH

Keegan are you using the standard sound pack that comes with AH or some third party versions?

Anyway, if you think your first problem is reason enough to cancel your account its clear you had no real interest in AH anyway.

Also the fact that you're using a 'critical workstation' for a game doesn't sound good..
You're playing on company property?

Good luck and bye.

What are you on man.

Not cancelling due to a sound problem.

Cancelling for lack of support.

I own my own company, this is my workstation.

The critical statement was to show its not loaded with a bunch of crap, nor an old install. Its a fresh OS with a slightly minor problem. This is about a lack of support that I am talking about.

Engine Sounds

Keegan I really don't see what's your beef, lack of engine sounds doesn't stop you from playing anyway.

HTC is known for their fast customer service but it seems that the influx of new players has got them swamped at the moment. If you haven't noticed, the player base has grown from 2000 to 3000 in a short period of time. All those AW'ers are probably asking them everything possible about everything.

If it's your own workstation, fine. I still wouldn't use a company machine for gaming  :)

Keegan it seems that you made changes to your system (including upgrading to XP from W2k which seems senseless to me) and that caused you to have this problem. Don't blame HTC if you porked your own system. I suggest you take time to root out the problem yourself. The problem might be with soundcard device driver incompatability with XP for example. If you're using a built-in driver, don't expect much since XP just came out of beta and with MS reputation will need at least 1x100Mb service pack to be in working condition.

If you don't want to do that, that's fine too.. Nobody forces you to play the best  online air combat simulation. Suite yourself.

But trust me: It's your loss.
