Author Topic: nearly 50% PL to AH servers (Read 1099 times)

The last week or so, I've been having a LOT of connection problems with AH. Until recently, mostly lost UDP, discos, and warpiness. The last few days, however, I've had about 50% packet loss to the servers. Obviously, this makes it impossible to play, or even maintain a connection. I started up a few other online games to see if my connection is just FUBAR, but everything else runs smooth; normal pings, 0% PL.

What gives? I'm in Ontario (Toronto).. routing issue? Some kind of obscure setting I'm missing here? Never had connection issues with AH on this isp.

Have you run ping plotter? It should tell you where the drop is happening. I suspect somewhere between you and HTC there is a bad hop.

I second that. I had issues with UDP, ran ping plotter and found the issue, wasn't HTC's servers in my case.

Since the fix, I haven't had a single disco..

Time warner took over my old adelphia connection in the Buffalo NY area , this happened last weekend and ever since TW has had a bunch of issue's . I know they had (or are still having ) routing issues . FWIW 38

I believe....

You have to run Ping Plotter right after a disco, and use the GAME server IP.

I lost the info on the game servers ip

cant say what it is for me but ever since the new patch i get constant disco
droped flat or udp switched to tcp and than two or three mins later its good bye.
arggg....cant play like this.

MajWoody is correct and you have the wrong IP to ping to.
From Skuzzy's post in Tech support forum, which by the way will have the most current IPs to ping:
Early, Mid, Late War Orange Main Arena Server Address: 206.16.60.39

lmmfao ....guess its back to disco land for me till i dump the game come the end of the month.

Timewarner is having a ton of issues right now , i'm in ny and the migration from adelphia to TW has been terrible . I read about a lawsuit comming out of California against TW due to poor /non functioning service . Were you an adelphia customer at one time?

I believe it was comcast befor time warner.
Hate to beat the dead horse some more but my connection was great up till the last patch...im just sayin...

thinking i might have pc issues as well.

this is with the IP MajWoody posted i now get huge variance spikes when i spawn on runways and disco shortly there after. i made charter cable come change out all their wiring.

can someone help me understand what is going on? i live in Denton which is about 30 min away from HTC.
