Hang in there, Angus.  I'll keep your daughter and your family in my prayers.  I've got four kids myself, and know what you mean.

Whew, what a relief!

I’ve watched my littlest one “die” more times that I could count.  She was born at 2 lbs 11 oz and 11 weeks early; spent 7 weeks in the NICU.  Preemies are really stupid; they will just stop breathing and sometimes their hearts will stop after a few seconds.  A good tickle gets em going again though.

The worst was when they gave her surfactant.  I had read about the drug, but didn’t really understand how it’s administered.  They basically fill the lungs with the stuff, the kid flails like mad, stops breathing, turns blue, heart stops – pretty much dead.  Then they suck it back out and revive the kiddo.  It’s pretty tough to watch when its your own.

eskimo, i had a hole in my heart when i was born premature.

my brother and i were the first set of twins to survive in the history of my father & mothers bloodlines.
every other twin died at birth or very shortly after.
we are a miracle of modern tech.

I use to get shocked back to life.

Till this day i still have dreams "nightmares" of my younger life, i can honestly say i have died more times than most before i was even a year old.

;)

p.s. god bless the incubator.

Wow!  I have Goosebumps after reading that BaDkaRmA158Th.  How old are you BTW?  If it weren’t for modern medicine I’d be a widower for sure.  100 years ago (or in a 3rd world country) my wife would have bled to death during childbirth with her rare condition.  Heck, our first two were breach and ended up cesarean.  There are no guarantees that mother or child would have survived those births either.

Random trivia: I met a girl who was the second test tube baby every conceived.

Good News Angus :D

There's nothing more horrible than watching your baby suffer in my opinion.

Here she comes.

After a long night, ME holding the sick baby in my arms, the little one and I had to go to feet early while Angus and our older daughter are still slumbering.

A good and caring husband would have gotten up himself, so that his wife could sleep a little longer, wouldn't he? :D

You really are one lot! Thanks again.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
