When the Axis CO confirms, he will have access to the rules and will know as much as the other.  Non Issue.

Edit:  Also, considering the event is running in October, with a full Month of practice scheduled, again it's a Non Issue.  Hold comments until the full story is known, when we publish the event please.  Don't second guess assumptions.

Well Roc I understand your view on it as well as doobs. But even if the event isn't running till October with a whole month of practice scheduled its still giving the Allies CO more time then the Axis CO to get prepared and ready for the scenario with stuff like recruiting planing practicing time trials 8 player rooms etc. Now until you announce the next scenario how is anyone gonna sign up to be the Axis CO? This is just giving the Allied CO more of a head start. Weather its 1 week or 1 month, time is of critical to any scenario the more time you have the better. So by giving the Allied CO a advance in knowing the scenario its like your giving the allied a head start.

I will never make the mistake of trying to give you guys a heads up again.  Don't ask, when you see a post about an event being announced, it will have the orders, the map, the COs in place.  Until then, deal with not knowing a thing.

Are you Kidding me?  The Allied co has no advantage, he Drafted the event and the Design Team is now going to make it Playable, which will Include the Axis and Allied CO.

Next post from me regarding this will be a formal announcement.  In the meantime, if you wonder what's coming down the pipe, remember this thread, because you won't know until it's Complete and Formal in the future.

Yeah I am the Allied CO.

Want to get really mad? I am also the designer. :p

Want a great conspiracy? I been thinking about this scenario since LAST OCTOBER. Heck that is when I started the first draft. :noid

Want to get really scared?  I was CO in AirWarrior of one not to different and have 8 Frames of experience. :O

[edit] Oh yeah btw, that 8 frames of experience was 13 years ago! Lotta time to plan in there too.

There, now worry about it. Good Grief.  :cry

TWO people outside the CMs have seen the design. ME and the guy I asked to be XO. I got ROC's permission to start recruiting some staff. I also got ROC's permission to show my XO the rough draft so he could see what he was getting into.

No one on the Allied side has started any planning. Heck I sure have not. I have not approached ANYONE who likes Luftwaffe planes. A couple of those people I actually would LOVE to have but I want WHOMEVER is also foolish enough to subject him or herself to the likes of scenario BS some people must always bring forth, to have a great staff. I am not stealing from the pool so to speak. I am TRYING to get people who do not play in scenarios so we can increase the pool. :furious

Goodness knows the gene pool needs increasing in scenarios. :rofl

Perhaps if it had not even been mentioned that the next one was
in the works with the allied CO picked and the rules in review
this disscusion would not be at this point now.

Maybe in the future the powers that be will keep things under wraps
untill there is an official anouncment, and every one will be happy..

Just my 2 cents.

Umm, the powers that be answered a question that was asked, by a player who was picked as Allied CO for an event Before the Axis Co was picked.

Figured he, more than anyone, would get how stupid that advantage sounds.

How can a guy that designed the scenairo be able to lead one side.

Roc, fencers posts goes against just about everything you said.

If this is true, then I want axis CO

we've had scenario designers take on a CO position befor . and there was no problem with planning ... as matter of fact that scenario came down to the last plane at the last base in the last frame kind thing.

Yeah I don't agree with BearKats, Fencer wont have any advantage, I'm sure the Axis C.O will have plenty of time to come up with his own, it's not like the Axis C.O is gonna be like "Man I could have won that scenario if I just had that extra month Fencer did."

You are forgetting one thing... the vast majority of people fly in scenarios for the fun of it, not for the scoring aspect.

I could care less if one side CO planned, designed, handled all the walk ons, and proof read the log. It is a damn game and unfortunately, we have (from what I can see) diminishing returns as far as the number of people putting in the effort into the scenarios.

All I ask is to be in the aircraft I signed up for, have the sides fairly balanced talent wise, and have a lack of flamefest on the forums. Everything else is gravy...

I do wish some of you would contact Raptor and check out some of the maps he has been working on... really great stuff.

OK, folks.  I have put up the promo for the next scenario.  It is here:

http://ahevents.org/pacific-theatre/current-or-next-scenario-2.html

Rules, dates, etc. will follow as we get them into shape; but this promo material will give everyone a good idea of what's coming up.

Oh for heavans sake. :noid

Doobs can't be Axis CO, he has more experience running a scenario in Aces High than I do.  It won't be FAIR. He already has a team in place!  I don't!  He will have a lead on me! :rofl

[edit] Ya know I figured it out.  Doobs want to be a CO in the next scenario.  So he is stiring the crap to create the impression of unfairness and a "demand" for an instant Axis CO/Team which "is always in place".

Smooth.  Way to crap all over the next event for your own needs bud. :huh
