Coming into the game the Cowboys offense averaged 33 points a game...The Pats D held their offense to 20. On 11 third down attempts, the Pats held them to only 4 conversions, and forced a pick. Of course Dallas was going to drive the ball, and get points on the board; they are the best team in the NFC, and the best the Pats have been matched up against so far.
That said, the Pats defense did pretty damn good if you ask me.
They might not be the biggest, but the Pats have arguabally the smartest linebacker crew in the NFL...Furthermore, there D line is nothing to over look. Only potential problem I see (especially against a team like the colts) is their secondary, but as soon as players like Asaunte Samuel (lasy year was tied for # 1 in INT's) and Rodney Harrison (all pro) step it up, the Pats will be unstopable.
I really dont think there is a team in the NFL this season that can beat the Pats...Not even the Colts...And it's because every player on the field is a mini belichick. They demand perfection each and every down...Doesn't matter if the play results in a first down, a TD or a pick, if a play isn't perfect, the players will recognize, and make damn sure they fix it....Thats what Belichick does...He takes average athletes, and makes them winning players through attiude and determination...
I played football for 9 years of my life...I was good, but I never had any star qualitys...That said, I gave 200% every down I played, and demanded perfection, and I ended up making, and starting Varsity from my Sophmore year on. Skill is important, but what you demand of yourself is even more so, and that Patriots just have it.
SUPER BOWL BABY!:aok
