Anyone who wants lower gas pprices should just turn in their SUV or other large engined vehicle that doesnt actually NEED a large engined vehicle.
Enough people do that and gas prices will drop considerably.

So long as we remain a nation of gas gluttens.
The prices of gas will remain high.

I have always liked the President, and have stood behind his decisions, and defended him against overly harsh criticism...I want him to do good.  I really do.  I think a lot of that has to come with the fact that I don't want to see some of these lunatic politico's, anti bush haters (particularly the extreme left), be correct and be able to say "I told you so".  It's not that it's Americans vs. American's, its just I disagree with their tactics and their approach with handling situations and expressing themselves, that I don't want to see the President end up beeing as "dumb" as they claim...

I don't know anymore...If I could go back, I certaintly would not have voted to re-elect the President, and as each day goes by, I think he is more of a mistake.

This is coming from somone who had the Republican propoganda shaft stuck as far as it goes...I can just imagine how people less interested or involved with politics or a party feel.

The only candidate I support right now is Senator McCain.  Unfortunately, I don't think he has a shot in hell of getting the nomination, and I don't think the GOP really has much chance against the dems in the general election if Hillary is nominated.

Too many people are fed up and want a change of party...

My prediction is that if Obama gets the nomination, GOP wins, however if Hillary gets the nomination, Dems win...I really think she will end up with the nomination, even with everything going on over the past 2 months, but particulary they past couple weeks....

I'll even go further and say that I think she will end up doing a pretty good job as President...I just cant see her being the first woman President, and allowing herself to perform anyway but to perfection, or at least making an attempt at it....

Then again, I couldn't see Bush being incompitant for years, but opinions slowly change.

Too be honest...I'm more interested in my local government and how their decisions influence my day to day life.

arlo... you asked me back a few pages ago... It is all three.. she is a dishonest, abrasive, socialist.

some or one of those things appeal to some democrats but never, almost never... all three.  I have never seen so many democrats look down in the mouth about who they are stuck with.

win or lose.. she may be the one to turn the democrats around and get em back to a more center position... lose big and they will see the writing on the wall no matter how much money sorros gives em... win.. and they may never win another election after that.

The "Mess", is the general state of affairs under George, he may not have started them all but hasn't helped much either.

Yeah. I lost a lot of respect for Republicans when that's the best they could do. Whoops! I wasn't supposed to notice that, was I? ;)

I'm sorry I confused you, again, Laz. Even the greatest effort to avoid that is a waste when you work so hard at it being so, darlin'. I wasn't asking if that was really your opinion of Sen. Clinton. It's pretty obvious it is. What I challenged you to do was present a better case for your reasoning because you seem to have convinced yourself that she's the first to exhibit such traits and that ... the American people all think like you. If you're trying to rationalize that the Democrats have shot themselves in the foot over Sen. Clinton running for office more than the Republicans did putting their faith in W then all I can offer is my sympathy. ;) :aok

Sorry, john, boyo .... three McJobs still don't equal one decent blue collar manufacturing job shipped overseas.  Ah, but the power of rationalization when you're a devotee, though, eh? ;)

I'd like to see this question posted again, as long as each reply starts with each poster's political beliefs and background.

So, here goes.

Democrat, but conservative. I would belong to a strong 3rd party if one existed, both parties we have now are bloated and self centered and are too closely aligned with special interests.

That said...

Hillary will win both elections as long as she can keep her mouth shut. Forget about any 'Swiftboating' or muck raking, all the dirt that was available was found when Bill was in office and will have little to no bite against her.

However, Bill is both her best asset and her weakest link. If a new episode of infidelity on Bill's part is aired, it will make her seem weak and too reliant on her husband to get elected.

That has got to be one of the most honest, objective, self reflective posts i've seen. With powers of honesty like that you surely don't deserve to be a Republican. Most couldn't admit the things you just admited, even if they felt them deep in their heart. They'd still be backing up Bush even if they had 5 children and they got drafted and he killed them all and they wondered why?

Please no Hillary in 08 !
