Special Event - Christmas Over Germany
« on: December 17, 2007, 07:28:19 PM »
Gents,

Since we are taking a few weeks off for Friday Squad Operations we have a special event planned,Christmas Over Germany, Friday the 28th of December at 11 PM Eastern using the Winter Rhine terrain.
http://ahevents.org/western-european-theatre/christmas-over-germany.html

See the above link for details. It is cross between Friday Squad Operations and a weekly Snapshot. ROC will be the hosting CM of this event. Walk on players are welcome, but we would like C.O.’s (especially those signed up for Friday Squad Operations) to contact ROC or Sled ahead of time so you can be assigned Allied or Axis and a particular field and aircraft. This will help keep the event balanced. It will run two hours and will allow multiple lives, (at least two, but it will be up to the hosting CM). This is a single frame event.

Show up a bit early as Dux told me the Winter Rhine terrain had some updates and maybe a new download.

353rd FG will be there and should be pretty close to our FSO commitment of 7-9.  We would really love to serve our historical role as P51d escorts if possible.

Thank you CM staff for running this!  It's a great Xmas present to fill the void till the next FSO.

Indeed.  WTG CM staff!

Expect JG11 in full FSO strength, (7 - 10) or more.  Should be a ton of fun!  Also a chance for the 11th to role play.  Looking forward to it!

Is JG11 specifically listed in this one? I briefly glanced at the description on the link, but didn't recall seeing unit names for the Germans.

Just curious, because it's not very often your flight assignment matches your squadron name. :aok

Although, I don't know if expecting 100, 200, or 300 pilots is going to be realistic, the week of Christmas and the weekend of New Years. ;)

I would like you guys to do your hunting in the 6.7 sector of the map.  Launch from A5, head south, then directly west.

:lol  Good one daddog.

I didn't see any units listed by name Krusty, no, but Winter of '44 saw JG11 on Reich's defence duty.  We would like to request the Ta152.  Yep, the Ta152 please.

No need to bring up the Stab/JG11 Ta skin issue again though...:D  :aok

I will contact Spivey about this. We may not be able to get good manpower for this, but we will try.

There are no minimum numbers guys. Squads that show will fly under their squad colors that they have in FSO. but you may fly with any number of your pilots that show.

Also there will be walk-ons allowed. and squads that are short may pick up these extra players as they come into the arena. Any extra walk-ons that are not picked up may be assigned to a squad by the CM's in the event, with the squad CO's permission of course.

Near start time we may need some pilots to switch sides to balance the numbers. We may also need some pilots to switch to Bombers so we have enough.

This event is more like a BIG Snapshot, than an FSO.

BTW, you guys pass the word about this event. A lot of people will not see this post.

After our group did some talking over in our forums we came up with a new ride preference. Sorry for the tad bit of confusion this may have caused.

Squad: Army Of Muppets
Numbers: 7-10
Side: Axis
Ride: Ta152

Please:D

I have three confirmed from VMF-251. However I just put out the notice today so I may not hear back from everyone for a few days. I'll give you an updated head-count soon as I've got it.

Anyway, our preference is:

Side: Allies
Ride: P-51D
Secondary: P-38L
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
