not a starwars referance, at least not when i originally thought of it.

it has to do with a B-2 mission they mentioned on the history channel, long story short, the 2 aircraft involved were designated Darth 01 and 02. And since every other name i had thought of was taken, i went with Darth2

Saw the AHII commercial on the Military channel decided to check it out. Didnt think it was going to be anything long term.
I wanted something plain like bob or tom. And i put them together and i got bobtom. I never thought it would be so bad for vox but a lot of people call me bottom.

So remeber........bobtom.......n ot.......bottom......

In the early 80s I served in the Army in Germany.  The Brigade I was asigned to was the 4th Bde 4th ID, its nickname was War Eagles.  When thinking of a name for AH, I thought it was a good fit.

The king doth keep his revels here to-night:
Take heed the queen come not within his sight;
For Oberon is passing fell and wrath,
Because that she as her attendant hath
A lovely boy, stolen from an Indian king;
She never had so sweet a changeling;
And jealous Oberon would have the child
Knight of his train, to trace the forests wild;
But she perforce withholds the loved boy,
Crowns him with flowers and makes him all her joy:
And now they never meet in grove or green,
By fountain clear, or spangled starlight sheen,
But, they do square, that all their elves for fear
Creep into acorn-cups and hide them there.

From wiki: "A slamfire is a premature, unintended discharge of a firearm that occurs as a round is being loaded into the chamber."

I learned what the term meant one fine day at an outdoor rifle range - this kid had a very tac'ted out, but dubious/beatup/rusty SKS rifle that he had purchased at a gun show.  At the moment of truth, he was afraid to shoot it for the first time - I offered to make the first shot for him, figuring "What the hell could happen ?  Either it goes 'Bang' or it does not".

Well, the rifle had 30 rounds loaded (it was a Chinese D model with an AK mag) , and it went full uncontrolled auto until all of 'em were fired - I just held the rifle as hard as I could, down range, and sweated it out until it was all over.  Thankfully nobody got hurt, but I sure got an earful from the range boss  :O

Lessons learned :
- Never shoot a stranger's weapon
- Always CLOSELY inspect any firearm you shoot - both inside and out.
- Always make sure ONLY one round is loaded when test firing for the first time.
- Always check that a free floating firing pin "rattles" before loading.
- Never volunteer
 :D

I used to be ->Sun in AW.
When I came hear, someone already had the ID "Sun" and special characters like the "->" are not allowed.

it's short for nuclear fusion.

My nickname in high school was Joedog... Being my first name is Jordon, a lot of people would call me Joe.  The 31 was for the 31st bomber barons whom i was with at the time when i changed my ID from Egle31st.  I had Egle31st because i fight like an Eagle in my yellow noised P-51D, "Fish31st said that one day! lol" .  And the 31st was for the 31st bomber barons.  But now the 31 stands for VF-31
