It could work with less than all the anti-vulch features (e.g. just the air starts on a small enclosed arena), but that's just to brainstorm out loud.

What if you offerd H2H with a higher player limit at an additional chg, players could set up their own duels and invite or boot anyone they wanted, players will be happy as they can make maps, chg rules as they please and HTC gets a new source of revenue, Win,WIN.

Player limits?, I'd suggest ten over squad limit

Long ago we had MOTD with  basics. That worked pretty well.

Weren't you the other problem in the DA? :lol

The dueling arena is not being used as a duel, but rather you want the dueling arena used as a quick furball arena.

I believe it being used this way and the complaints was why I turned kill shooter on in the first place.

A very simple fix is for me to turn all radar off, that way if you use the fields as intended no one will know where you are on the map. And hence you can just move to where no one will bother you.

But then, you would not be able to tell if there were players at those bases already either, so you could avoid them.  It would basically be impossible to tell if an area was open and available for your duel.

Quite the dilemma.

I had thought that the area where people are furballin is the place where they were supposed to furball.  Killshooter off, killshooter on, I really dont see where it matters much.  Interference will still occur.

We've put forth some suggestions, at this point it's all speculation as to which ones are good until HT gives his opinion :)

He did! There is no problem.  I just want kill shooter off.

There is one fix only.  Make it a rule and have a penalty for it.  Everything else will fail one way or another.

I just don't understand why HiTech can't assign several "trainer types"for the DA also. I'm willing to bet you'd find plenty who wouldn't even want the free subsciption for it.

It would be so easy to set a clear MOTD and then allow several players to enforce it. No need to change anything that way.

if 1v 1 DA fields were set up to be an 'instance' only the invited group members would be in it.   That would prevent interlopers, and the members of the group could have killshooter off.

No I don't know how to code this, but it is a function in games like DAOC.

AW had an instanced duel mode.  Was buggy as hell.

Why is there even a furball lake with three fields on it? That sort arrangement only encourages a type of free for all that Skyrock doesn't care for, and indeed, probably doesn't belong in the DA anyway.

I recently accepted someone's "invitation" to the DA, and he wanted to fight at Furball Lake instead of any of the nearly 20 other fields where no one was present and the merge area is clearly defined. Why? WHY? DEAR GOD WHY?!?!

It seems to me if you're looking for a truly clean 1 on 1 duel, you shouldn't be flying in Furball Lake. Call out on CH200, see if anyone's interested, and then decide to fly elsewhere. Problem solved.

Yah....and those were some FUN bugs!!! :D

What could work is to have an AW style "duel mode" available ONLY in the DA. It would stop the uninvited from interfering and since it would be unavailable outside the DA, the potential for bug abuse would be limited.

Been asking for such a thing for years.  Even suggested alternative spins on it, like using the radio channels to set up an "instance only" killshooter_off.
