The DA is only fun at night with less than 20 people on.

honestly, if 2 people wanted to truly have a dogfight on equal terms ( or more than 2 ), and was honest about it. It really does not matter which arena you go to. You agree for a guns cold 1st merge, you agree upon plane types, fuel load, and alt......

The key factor in all of this seems to be communication..........and then education ( educating the newer flyers who tend to interfer! )

if you see a flyer trying to interfer, go to private 1 to 1 tuned VOX and set the sucker up for a drag and let the other guy you was 1 vs 1 or ( any number vs any number ) kill them.......then have your fight...

as for SkyRock's runtard ack draggers.........seriously SkyRock, you yourself know how to deal with them! smack em down until they get the message, fight or leave......

NOTE - the damn link is missing at bottom of page where it says CLICK HERE to view all replies ( this thread has more than 40 replies ).......

most people who go to the DA, are their to fight yes, so if you have a problem, work together ( Team Work ) to rid yourself of the dweebs that want to ruin your fighting experience.

as for setting up some type of MOD system, for the DA it is quiet hard to do, because their is not one person or group of people who DA exclusively and fly only in the DA and no where else.
All CM / AvsA / Training Staff would not want to be PM'ed  repeatedly why they were in the TA, or in flight in another arena, or in an event to drop what they were currently doing just to run and smack some griefer down or eject them, .....

losing RADAR has already been mentioned as to why it  would be a  bad idea.....

one thing about the furball lake, with all the pickers / gangers etc..it does help to improve one's SA ( situational Awareness ) skills....... and can even help you practice for KOTH, for those that fly KOTH..because you never know what to expect.......

sorry for long post, but like I mentioned before, if you are serious about good fights, then work together  with your opponent to insure your fight is done as agreed upon......

Well 1 Edit: perhaps maybe those annonymous Moderators  might have some type of cross arena messaging system to where if a report was posted ( ie .report  in    these undercover /annonymous MODS might be able to go and take care of the problem without anyone knowing ? doubtful though.........only way to really do a MOD for the DA is to make it public who the MOD is , kind of like the Big SHERIFF  and give them a and bwana privs to inact his powers on griefers and do it publically.....this approach might  straigten out the DA arena to where people get the idea...but the older ong time players are the ones who should encourage cooperative gameplay and teach / mold the newer players to use good gamemanship to have more and better quality of fights in the DA.....

TC, do the trainers exclusively fly in the TA?  No right?  Some come in the DA in shades creating problems, so I don't understand your point on the MODs not being able to be there all the time.  The idea is that you wont know if one was on or not.

It is simple.  If it is a rule, all I have to do is film it, send it in, and repeated offenders will be dealt with.  I am not paying to spent time chase any one away.

Gee, where have we heard this idea before???  Oh, yea.  Back when HiTech turned Killshooter on and completely dissed this idea, among others.  Several people volunteered to help police the DA, especially if an MOTD was posted like in the TA that could be refered to as the 'official' rules.  People didn't even need ejection priviledges, but could simply inform the perp about his bad behavior with some authority, film the transgressor, the submit to HiTech for proper action.  No go.  Much easier to just avoid the whole problem by using the sledgehammer-against-mosquito tactic.

That's right.  I remember now.  HiTech's solution to policing the DA was to stop the bad behavior of about 1-2% of the people who used the DA (and most of those were two-week freebies) by punishing everyone and killing the DA by turning Killshooter.  If 3 or 4 people were going to disrupt the DA from time to time such that people actually COMPLAINED to HiTech while drinking his latte, then the obvious fix is to spoil everyone's day, permanently.

Gee, any questions where I stand on this.  LOL

#1 - TC, do the trainers exclusively fly in the TA? No right?   that is correct

#2- Some come in the DA in shades creating problems : are you saying Trainers do this?  or anyone comes in in shades in general?  yes people do cause problems in the DA, I am not saying they do not. if it is on a continous basis, then yes I would film it and send it in, and the continous problem brats should possibily lose their privledge to fly in Aces high for maybe 1 month perhaps? or a set predetermined ban time, until they learn, possibly? what you think?

#3-so I don't understand your point on the MODs not being able to be there all the time. The idea is that you wont know if one was on or not.
: Ded, I think  I offered another suggestion to this, for HTC to pick a few to rotate in and out of the DA, with visible "HTC or Aces High  DA POLICE" tags so the griefers would no instantly that BS is being looked for, to curtail any disrupts...

#4 - from my understanding, and I am only guessing here, but MODS are not online in every arena 100% of the time. so  the same would apply for the DA arena, how would you make sure , correction, how can HTC make absolutely sure that there will be a MOD in the DA 100% of all the time......impossible unless they hire someone to do it......if they was gonna do that then might as well make the DA Lawman public, to stop the BS to begin with......

I did add to my original post, saying there might be a way for those annonomous moderators to maybe receive a cross arena feature of the .report command showing what arena it originates from and who the report is about,  but in doing so, it would not be long before people started figuring out who was a mod and who was not........false reports and enough of them , then we all could easily figure out who is showing up to handle the problem......

that is my take on it anyhows.......

I am just saying you don't need a mod all the times.  You just need the fear that one may be on or the email to HT.  Right now, they are not doing anything wrong.  They are actually encouraged to do it since the  only response from HT was that this is all about me wanting kill shooter off.  I guess no one else complained about it :rofl

As far as the trainer comment, no reason to create confusion.  We all know who it is.  Ask BadBoy what he thinks.  Now, if he knew this was against the rules I am sure he would not be doing it would he?

I agree 100% with SkyRock on this one.

I dislike the MA now because of the huge maps and nothing but 15k alt monkey looking for picks and noting but score crazy players afraid to get killed in fear of ruining their score. Not to mention the long flight times.

So when the DA furball come out I was hooked. In the beggining it was great fun. Some 1v1 and a little 4v4 action too. One could fly around alone on the edge of the lake looking for a 1v1 or fly to the center for the multi con fight.

But now it is infested with nothing but gangbanging pickers. No one respects a 1v1 now. You can be way far way from everyone else in a nice fight and as soon as that is spotted by another player he just comes in and starts picking the slow plane. Friendlys dont even ask anymore.

Perhaps a smaller radar circle around the center...just a little smaller than the water to indicate the "multi engagement area". If you go in the circle you can expect to get ganged. I know the zeros like to fly like this. But if you are looking for a smaller fight...1v1 or 2v2 then stay out of the circle. This way you know which players want 1v1 and which players want gangbang play. Seems like a really simple solution. Of course some will disrespect this rule as there will always be some dweeb to ruin any good idea. But I think it might work. Besides how hard would it be to make simple circle on the map.

i agree with agent on this good idea,
i have had some fun in the da usualy i die but im getting better at 2 vs 1
or 3vs1 im not looking for too much more than that.
but i know if i meet agent i get a good fight either way.
i too fly on the outskirts most of the time,
only agravating thing about this is if there is only a few players on say 6 and you are one on one nine times out of ten tehy will fly all the way across the map to pick the winner, (if you finish fast enough)
but its good when there are three or four different fights going on at the same time. you finish your fight and go join another lol:D

What if there was something put in like AW had. For those who doesn't know, AW didn't have a DA. Just a command for dueling. For example if I wanted to duel XXXX, it would be .duel XXXX

Now I'm not saying to get rid of DA. But what if we could use something like this, to where only those who were invited by that command would be able to see those dueling.

We never had to worry about people jumping in and ruining fights, and it was rather simple. Soon as you accepted the duel, you were in "dueling mode" and the whole map just went blank like you were in an arena all by yourself, and no one could see you either.

Just a thought...

Looks like this was already brought up lol... oops :)

+1

It's always been the same in the MA, most stick with the hordes take or defend bases. But if your willing to sacrifice number of kills per hour for quality you can find good fights around the edges of main furballs and other likely interception points.

At any time on either country you get to know who the other 1v1 sticks are and roughly where they might be.

Anyway that's what I try look for, off peek of course you have no choice they find you. :D
