I laughed when the wingnut community over at LGF and other sites got all bent out of shape when Obama told a story about how he was talking to an Army captain in Afghanistan, who told him that they had supply shortages.

The whole wingnut blogosphere got their panties in a bunch, and started demanding that Obama produce the army captain that said that. Because, after all, only wingnuts really understand the military after all - with their gun fetishes at home. Only right wingers understand service to the nation, blah blah.

So then Republican chair of the Armed Services Committee, John Warner DEMANDS that Obama produce the captain. Whoa, Warner man, check the bottom of your shoe because that's not your BO that you are smelling.

But, also has the class to keep his name out of the news.

Warner and the right wing blogs just got a swift kick to the ass.

Would that shut them up? Hell no.

They start talking about how Obama is UNFIT to start commenting about supply shortages.

So, Bush can fly in an airman's suit onto a carrier and pronounce mission accomplished when it was complete BS, but Obama cannot comment on supply logistics and not serving the troops? According to the wingnuts, yes.

So... what does he do?

I anticipate the remainder of 2008 to be stories in the O'Club about Obama and his muslim roots and his middle name being Hussein, as if that means something, and the closet muslim and all the other fear mongering, swift boating that the usual LGF crowd is so good at.

But, I just think it's funny that Obama took all the wingnut outrage about a 'damn liberal' talking about the military and orchestrated some masterful political theater from it, and getting Warner to STFU

But he's still a Black Supremacist, so he can still go to Hell as far as I'm concerned. He belongs to a Black Supremacist Church, so that does make him a Black Supremacist. That church says White people can't go the Heaven because their White. Is that the kind of person you want as a President?

sorry, obama just doesn't cut it for me. He is a good guy no doubt. But the reality is that he is acting like a kid who will promise anything to anyone to get his piece of candy. Its just too much fluff

I lived in Africa much longer then him, does that make me an African-American?

P.S. The whole idea that some Blacks call themselves African-Americans because their a darker skin tone is just ludicrous. I know many Whites that were born in Africa and have lived there their whole life who consider themselves African. Plus, the white race originated in Africa. Just because our skin tone lightened up during our travels to the north doesn't make us any less African.

I just wonder what time frame the Captain was talking about the sortages. I remember at the begaining of the war we did not have enough rifles to issue to everyone. They were then issueing AK's. Which did not surprise me to hear. Back when we were deploying for the 1st Gulf War, I got to Ft Campbell from Korea after everyone deployed to Saudi. We were going through all our required training and inprocess. There was not a rifle to issue to us at the time. The Army had to dig up some, which we got the week we boarded the plane for Saudi. We were getting people to our unit there later who were issued referb M16A1's. We had the A2's. We even got a Sargent in who was issued an .45. No one in an Army Aviation unit I've been in ever got one of those.
So again, who was the time frame he was talking about? If it was 6 years ago, yea, that would be about right. If it was recent, then after all this time I really would have an problem. And it really would be Congress problem. The give out the money.
