Does anyone know why the planes seem to sometimes blow up/disappear as they're on the "take off" run?

I noticed some of them will dip the right wheel and wingtip below the runway, and takeoff in a right hand turn like they're on a rail. Others ran over my stationary plane on the runway like monster trucks. I'm going to guess the single plane practice mission we're messing with isn't optimized to deal with numerous clones and takeoff/landing patterns for them. Yesterday the survivors of my flight flew directly into the tower, where they all promptly disappeared.  :noid

By the way, man that CTAI0000 guy can fly a b17, you ought to see a b17 dogfight an A.I. P51.  Too bad it doesnt shoot :lol

CJ3

I was going to ask if the AI Bombers would fly like a fighter or in a strait line.

..was thinking about making a film of a big bomber raid being attacked by 109s and 190's.  Oh well.

I have a stupid question;

If I change the AI to a plane that is more manuverable (ie zeke) or faster but more fragile (like the 262) will it fly within the limits of the aircraft? Or would the AI fly the zeke in larger circles as if it was still in a 51?

The B17s are dogfighting, apparently.  HT has had his hands in this code, probably for a long while, so it's probable we'll have flags for that in later editors.

Del --

The performance will be different, and appropriate for the airframe. Don't know if the tactics are different (ie if there's different AI game plans for Zeke vs Pony), but the flight model behaves itself even for OTTO.

Just made a moderately big Axis vs Allies (biased plane set, I know) mission.

All the details, mission file, films etc can be found in this post:

I'm sure he has..I'm sure the AI B-17s don't do that in CT.

Ok....it's too weird to explain...I'd made a Battle of Britain offline mission...made 3 missions instead of usual two... was in one plane but my controls affected another aircraft....anyway, here are all the links:

For the film:

For the mission file:

Please help...

How did you do that? I did the P-51 mission like 10 times and it was really easy. I want to try other planes.
You must be really good!  :rolleyes:
