Well, as I said in my earlier post, before I mastered my anger....I always found Charlton Heston to be a reasoned and articulate spokesman for the NRA and other conservative causes.  He was a great actor and will be sorely missed.

Salute to a great American who served his country in WW II.

Wow. Havent seen that many Skuzzifications in a long time without the thread being locked.

Guess either not everyone liked Heston. Or someone said something that really touched a nerve.

Oh well.
Regardless.

One of the last old school hero type, movie stars.
I kinda miss that genre.
Thought it was kinda creepy the amount of religeous type movies he made . But enjoyed them all none the less.

It takes a certain amount of bravery to be an out-of-the-closet conservative in Hollywood--the man stood on his principles, outcome be damned :aok

Darn.  I guess 84 is not too bad though.

Ironically I was just watching Planet of the Apes on YouTube and reading about the series yesterday morning...

He always looked fit and trim....right up to the time he was diagnosed with Alzheimers.  Wonder of our modern Hollywood pretty boys will age as well as he did.

<S> to charleton heston.  I'm surprised that no one has posted that before the civil rights issue became cause celebre in hoolywood he stood for the rights of all people and did so openly.  the man was the personification decency, irrespective of his chosen profession and the pressures he must have faced for his views from his peers.

One of my deleted posts did. He marched with MLK and picketed for Civil Rights.

First off, its really sad see all the editted comments this morning. I can only guess that SOME of those comments that were editted were attempting to insult a political icon who's flagship was the 2nd amendment. That's very sad, and perhaps you should think before posting, what this man has done to keep our 2nd amendment freedoms in place.

Secondly, it saddens me to see Chuck leave this earth spiritually. May he RIP.

Yah, some guys ya just love their on-screen persona--Spencer Tracy WAS a great actor, and I always liked his movies (the original 3:10 to Yuma is my fav) No one would compare John Wayne with Sir Lawrence Olivia, but I never saw a movie a movie of his (or Heston's) which I didn't like. The modern day models--Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, the little short enviro-nut from Titanic....they are all selected FIRST and FOREMOST as models, then if they can perhaps act their way out of a paper bag, so much the better. Does anyone think Ernest Borgnine would be given  a leading role in a movie today? Richard Widmark? Humphry Bogart.....so many others of their ilk would never be heard of today, sad

He was one of my favorite actors and as a champion of the 2nd Amendment one of my favorite people.
