I don't know what the teen pregnancy rate is in Alaska, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is far above the rate in the continental US. Small isolated towns, few activities for kids.

So let's not teach anything about the subject and leave it up the parents to teach the kids.

Well I think the science of sex education should be taught, most parents would not know all the things that need to be brought up in reproduction. The big difference I have seen here in the USA & the rest of the world is that sex education is perceived as encouraging kids to go out & try it.
