◊ Time: 7:30 PM EST (Assembly) → 8:30 PM EST (Launch)

This works out to 5:30 (1730) MST and 4:30 (1630) PST.  Might be a bit early in a work day for Mountain and Pacific locations.

In the future we will have to coordinate
so we have the Bishop MoM opposing the
Rook MoM.

That would be quite the spectacle!

I would love to coordinate that, maybe next month. Email me if you really want to do that. :)

Noticed the Armament section...P51B could carry 2 1K bombs, and the D could carry 10 rockets instead of 8.

Mission failed to reach its target.  Sad.
Mission succeeded to provide an hour of joy for me!

The two main bomber groups met up, my bomber group (the smaller one) spotted 1-262 that was downed quickly when it went for the larger bomber group.

Then we noticed a bunch of red dots heading to intercept, called for fighter support but being in the back almost, I noticed way too many fighters going below the hard deck chasing one plane while 262-s and p47's raped us from behind  :O

I downed a 262 and a p51, looked back after just a moment to notice my group GONE with only one guy left.

I floated down in a chute watching as the group received a criss cross pummeling and then upped a p51 from a forward base.

Sadly, at this point the groups were dispersed pretty bad but we did manage to down ALOT of fighters.  All in all I would have to say it was 2:1 in our favor :)  I drifted home on fumes after attempting to escort what seemed to be only 2-3 bomber groups that were left.  Some strayed away and somehow made it in solo and out solo.

Very odd mission.  Hoping next time we can organize the fighters to chase the planes away but stay with the bombers and fly ABOVE the bombers.  Seems like the planes like to fly formation with the bombers which hey, that doesn't work.

It all happened so fast...streaks of red burning through the sky then CRACK CRACK CRACK, something is on YOU again.  Start firing , return to f1 view, then f3 to scout....wild ride for sure.

Seemed like they knew EXACTLY where the bombers were before the fighters could truly group up.  The bombers were just tightening their formation when the enemy fighters arrive.  When the 'red blob' arrive it was all over for most of them as they slowly picked them apart on the way to their target.

I was also surprised at how few people joined to be fighter support.  I tried bombing this round but see where I am needed the next round.

Big *S* to the enemy and the AWESOME friendlies during this mission - as always, it's a pleasure.

And of course, lets not forget DELTA for pulling together yet another mission making this game worth the price of admission! *S*!

It seemed like the fighters were too far ahead of the bombers to much.  I was in a group flying TA-152's we blew right through the fighters in one sector to get to the bombers in another sector.

Bish saw the dar building up across a wide area of the map and sent up scouts to find the main body. I had just left a field on a vendetta against a gv killing jug when word came it was time for MoM so I refueled and launched to intercept. I had just cleared 28k in a P51 with 75 fuel and tanks when the main body was located. I turned to an intercept point and continued to climb. At 29k I saw about ten rook P51s about 5k higher that did not press an engagement and so I followed them while still climbing. They took my wingman and I straight to the bombers but they must have known more bish were in the area near the bombers because they soon broke in all directions downward. Seeing the bombers I called to my wingman to stay close and we both attacked the lead aircraft. My wingman did not stay close so I climbed to the front of the bombers and made a second pass reversing to climb in front of them again (at this point I can see about fifteen rook fighters behind the bombers that I didnt know were there) and after my pass I see my wingman explode and a P51B attacks me but does not stay focused on me so I made a third pass (two bombers down and one will be given later). Several bishops had been around but at that point I assessed the air and realized most of our 262s are smoking or run low and most of my squad are dead or fighting lower. I grabbed on the north side of the rook bomber/fighter group while keeping pace with them. A P38 came out after a smoking 262 and I killed the P38 before he could do much. My ammo is getting low so I head back toward the base nearby while keeping an eye on the rooks. I see two P51s about coalt cross my nose after the group and grabbing. I turned on one and killed him before turning with the second but no sooner do I engage then a third comes into sight but I stayed to kill the second and now that the third has energy and altitude he attacks but I fool him into gravity and his lack of situation awareness allows me to stay inside his turns and once I get behind him I just stay careful (I only have 26 bullets) until he is an easier target. He keeps jinking hard fighting like a catfish trying to stay in the pond but once I shoot his tail off that stops that!  :D

It was a blast as usual!  :salute

These are the sort of events where a Monthly newsletter from AH sent to everyone's email would be useful, I bet the numbers for both the attackers and the defenders would be high.

You can signup for one at our website iTunes.
We send out Mission Alerts the weekend before the
mission date so everyone will know about it.

Sincraft,  what are you talking about?
I believe you meant to say that you didn't make it
to target in your bombers ... but despite losing you  :cry
the majority of the strike force was successful.  ;)

The bombers reached both targets!
I was with them the whole way in my uber
P-47D-25!  :aok

I don't think that any made it home though.
Either way, last night was a blast!

It seemed like the fighters were too far ahead of the bombers to much.  I was in a group flying TA-152's we blew right through the fighters in one sector to get to the bombers in another sector.

There were 4 Fighter groups.
Two were dedicated escorts, the other two were interceptor.
You passed one of the interceptor groups that were ahead
of the bombers.

The only tactical error was that the majority of the enemy
opposition came from an area where we had not deployed
the initial interceptor sweeps.  Once they were detected
we vectored in both interceptor groups to engage the
oncoming bandits before they could reach the bombers,
which they did.  Had it not been for the interceptor groups,
I believe the bombers would have never made
it to the target.

From a tactical aspect, this was a completely successful mission.
The goal is to keep our losses within operational parameters.
That is, to have enough bombers survive to reach and bomb their
designated targets.  Based on the status reports received
from the bomber groups, we suffered 35-40% bomber losses before
reaching the first target but had enough of a strike force to
bomb it, and the secondary target.  A job very well done!  :salute
