My neighbor and I each got a set of these the same year for Christmas.  We replicated the twin towers.  It was sweet.

another toy that hurt more then it was fun kabangers .  I think that is how you spell them.  2 hard balls on a string slapping together  hummmm.    Hurt your wrist and forearms when they didn't hit right.  oh the bruises

I've been looking all over google and yahoo search, and I can't even find a picture of them. But I know they existed, I almost burned out my bedroom more times crashing them things together at 2am in the dark...

1/32 Eldon international 500 track . still have it but its now setup w/ a variable power supply ,added more banked corners and Can race any of the old cars or go full out with a set of Carrera/Scalextric Adjustable Magnet cars .
its now the ultimate cat tease and Rooling baby sitter.

the name seemed to vary depending on where you lived.
In my area they weree called "Click Klacks" Another area "Kalackers" Yours it was obviously Kabangers

I had one of those. I remember my mom saying it cost them a small fortune at the time.
My father used to race those competitively at some hall a couple towns over from where we lived and used to take me there on saturdays sometimes.
Right after the barber shop and just before we hit the bar LOL I was like 6 or 7.
He'd get us a couple of bags of peanuts and  hot dogs. I'd get a couple of cokes and him  a couple beers and we'd wath the ball game on the bar TV or the horse races.
Back then it was no big deal.
Back then it was close to being a ritual
Cant bring a little kind into a bar these days.

LOL yup. same here. Lotta Yankee fans in my area. My ol Man was a Dodgers fan. when they moved out west he just couldnt stomach the thought of becoming a Yankee fan. So when the Mets came into being. He naturally became a Met fan.
Now this was the era of manager Casey Stengel  "Can anybody play this game? Amazins Pre 1969 worst to first team. Where just about every game was a comedy of errors highlight film
So I got teased alot.
Naturally I developed a deep hatred of the Yankees that, even though Im not a huge baseball fan now. Survives to this day
In any event I remember taking Bobby Mercer And Micky Mantle cards and doing that with them out of spite. Much to the horror of my friends.

Yea yea I know. Dont I wish I had those cards now. Hell yea. but fact of the matter is my mother had a nasty habit of throwing away my boxes of "worthless" baseball cards when she did spring cleaning. so I wouldnt have em now anyway.
So I aint kicking myself over it.
She does though LMAO

Hey Blooz does your Steam engine take the couple drops of oil for Smoke ? Those were really cool .

Dred remember the huge slot tracks ?  I raced at everyone I could find Back in my Air Force days ... toss in a dime ... and get someone to lay a buck down and the Race was on !... I had a small fortune in my cars back then.
these days its about 30 bucks a car and the 1/32nd car models make great sacrifices for additional bodies.

you guys should see what a 1/32nd eldon Drag race set goes for ...they bring about a grand on ebay these days.
