Textures/Resolution Degenerate
« on: July 28, 2009, 06:00:10 PM »
The Textures/Resolution seems to Degenerate the farther away i am from my plane in external and the gauges in the aircraft get blurry the farther you are back in the cockpit. The Image seems to be sharp when my vitual nose is pressed against the panel.

I have a Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT/GTO

Defualt Settings are
Resolution = 1024 x 1280
Max Texture Size = 1024

I have not downloaded the Hi Res package.

So I think that would mean that you are stretching the 512 texture into 1024. Lower the texture to 512, because that is what your using and try it again. Just a guess tho.

I've tried Both 512 and 1024, both are doing the same thing as well...

Also I cannot see the Sector Lines on the CB map, and the Numbers are All Blurred and unreadable.

Also the Skins are all blurry even at 1024.

(from another thread in Beta Forum)
The Clipboard Map Grid Numbers are unreadable.  Also, I've turned my gfx card all the way up, turned the AA up on game and I still see fuzzy skins.  EX: This F6F should be really clean, but the skin is fuzzy. Look at the Star.

Are you guys forcing anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering on in your video control panels?  They should be set to application control.

My Gfx card is set to "application controlled" for both.  (ATI Tray Tools)

Just wondering, did you guys install the High-Res texture update?

Are you guys forcing anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering on in your video control panels?  They should be set to application control.

Does the game even utilize anisotropic filtering?  Transparency AA?  MipMaps (Bilinear or Trilinear?)?
I'm so confused with how we should and shouldn't utilize the video settings..  Why can't I just set it in
my Nvidia control panel??

Also, there are only 3 anti-aliasing settings while my card supports six different modes..  This results in my not finding a happy medium between performance and eye candy..
I see no setting for Anisotropic Filtering in-game..

Should we run threaded optimization in the Nvida Control panel??

How come all my gauges are blurry??

I'm running the game at 1024 textures at a resolution of 1680X1050...

My frame rate took a serious hit..  It's down to 40 while it was always at a steady 60 before..

I had all these issues and more with the beta and figured they'd be all worked out by the time this was released....

Gonna do a little research and trial/testing to see what works best..  BTW, I'm running a Geforce 9600GT w/512 at 800/1100mhz(gpu and memory) respectively..

I think HTC has their work cut out for them on this one....  Here's to hoping you guys can get things worked out.. :rock

I had this problem to. I went to the Nvidia control panel and clicked on the default tab for Aces High and it changed a lot of things to application controled. After that everyting was good. I had set the card for SH4 and it changed the global settings I guess. I noticed it right away when logging on because the login screen was even blurry before.

What game resolution are you running the game at?  Do not assume it did not change after the first patch.  Look in the "Video Settings".

Mine got changed to 1024x768 which made everything look blurry.
