From my experience when a company delivers a product and the customer slams them for its poor quality, its the companies fault, every single time.

This seems to be the first exception to that rule that I have come across.

Although I respect Hitech for having the patience to create and maintain this game, I cannot agree with his pompous conduct of pissing on customers that have legitimate complaints, on a General Discussion forum. This complain, by definition fits in with General Discussion.

I have even less respect for those who come in and piss on them also, even thought it doesn't really involve them. Do you think it will make you look good by doing so? Surely, it might to persons of your own caliber.

I would expect the creators of this game to take these complaints in stride. Their emotional response proves the original posters point.

Santaana: I challenge you to find 1 time I have ever done this.

2nd you fail to take one huge point into consideration about the type of customer service most companies do. With most companies there customers do not all speak with each other. In companies where 1 customer effects the other, the company normally deal very quickly with rude customers. Take any restaurant / bar as an example. Customer complaints are taken seriously and their complaint is delt with. Customers who become load and rude are escorted out and not asked to come back.

3rd if you continue this slandering of HTC as you have in the past,(if my memory is incorrect and you have not ranted on this same issue in the past accept my apologies) you also will have finally crossed the line of a customer who causes more people to be unsatisfied and hence would no longer be a valued customer.

 :(

I'll respond to the points.

1st - I was referring to your post on page 5 or 6. It seemed you were referring to the poster as a person who sits at home and throws stones, whilst you are a creator.

2nd- I agree, I did not take that point into consideration. I believe at one point someone made a good analogy and since then I relented on the topic. This one might be even better.

3rd - I don't believe I have slandered your name in anyway. If I did, well then you should accept mine. In fact I run a website that indirectly promotes your game, if you care to check the link on my signature. Granted the traffic is small, but the principle is there. I think the only thread I was really active in was when there was an SS squad on the squad list and I found that to be out of line, so I posted about it.

To summarize, I think your work is good and I enjoy the game. Hence my activity in it and in the forums. If my line makes me a non valued customer, and the person who writes obscenities is just edited without being given that label, then what are the consequences?

Edit: But since I like the label of valued customer, I'll ease my lines. Personally, love the new graphics  :aok isn't that what this thread was all about anyway.

seems to me saanata forced himself into someone elses argument, took sides and ended up being intentionally disrespectful to the owner of a private business.  I wouldn't blame the owner of said business one bit for throwing the guy out on his ears permanently.

The above version from your post would help your fellow man much more than an ear bashing.

Perhaps. Though I suspect that the OP might have learnt a lesson here. Then this will all be worth it.
Not just for this forum either, but life in general.

If you dont want to help your fellow man and just want to join in the lynching I am affraid you need to think again.

We'll have to disagree on that.  Help must be a two way street and the OP was all one-way traffic and it was all going the wrong way.

Having said that, what needed to be said has been quite comprehensively. I don't think the OP needs any further lashings. This thread has served it's purpose in existence and can now die the death it deserves.

That's a bit rough, mate. Even the OP deserves a second chance.

Yarbles it's his (their) business, and they've heard this advice probably a hundred times already.  Maybe they know some things you don't.. e.g. some people can't be helped and after some experience dealing with em, you can spot em a mile away.

Yes maybe but I have been labelled as such and I know that is simply not true in my case because once i understood the process and how it resolves itself with futher up dates etc I was hugely re assured and happy with how things went.

I went from unenlightened to enlightened but what I detect is some understandable impatience with the ignorant and ill informed. However everyone starts out like that surely and this game has mass appeal im my opinion beyond technical types. The emotions conveyed by some of the subscribers as in dissapointments though usually temporary and a marginilisation when everyone else seems to be ok except a minority (more perception than reality) reflect the quality of the product and how important it is to people. The fact that people get so emotionally involved is almost a complement.

My admitedly lay opinion is that some of the community who obviously see themselves as stake holders (which is great) and HTC are unecessarily thin skinned about this. I would like to see a more patient indulgent attitude especially given the age range of the players.

Anyway like I said "I would like to see" I dont presume to tell people what to do and to what standards they want to adhere. I do think with power comes responsibility and the opportunity to set a good example. :D

Have you read through his posts during the entire update process? I have, he's beyond his "second chance" with this thread.

Having said that, what needed to be said has been quite comprehensively. I don't think the OP needs any further lashings. This thread has served it's purpose in existence and can now die the death it deserves.

Early on when i started playing this game I was in the MA and some overhated person was f... him and hes a .....er of every kind etc. 68 Magnum calmly and simply said "in here we try to treat eachother with respect"

That was priceless and all it took. The hot head soon calmed down and was happy about it.

I feel thats the sort of thing that works, gets the job done and does the least damage.

Set a good example.
If you dont like the behaviour direct your criticism to the behaviour not the individual. Give people a chance to get over their negative feelings by being positive with them.  If you see yourself as a stakeholder in this and want to promote the game share your experineces where things have been resolved for you and offer calm helpfull advice to people. If you feel people are being annoying and disrepectfull point it out in an unobussive way they can digest. Otherwise it looks from where I am sitting as though you are just venting YOUR frustrations on them.

Well, Yarbles just stated my point better then I did in all my attempts.
That's my last contribution to this thread, I promise!

So how are you dealing with an attitude when you call us and primarily ME thin skinned.
I must admit I do get very tired of people taking pot shuts at HTC and not an issue just as you are doing now.
And you do fail to see the hypocrisy in your very post.  You believe it is perfectly fine to attack HTC but it is not acceptable to attack a different person.  You do not not consider that it could be that I have very valid reasons for point out some peoples bad behaviors.

Nope just like other people you choose to criticize HTC when in reality it is not HTC who really has the bad behavior. But you think that when HTC points out that behavior you think we are thin skinned.

Yarbles bad behavior as was demonstrated in his first post is over the line. This type of bad behavior has to be delt with. It is our job to deal with it. We have many ways to deal with it, one of which is to shine a flash light on it, like I did this time. Other times we just remove it.

Falling apart after someone calls you a "toolsheder" is thin skinned.

Responding to attacks on your bread-n-butter isn't.

HTC; I love your game.  That's why through this whole update ordeal I have stayed true to it.  Tweaking and modifying settings so that I could continue enjoying this game.  Finally everything was ok.  The stuttering had stopped and the low frame rate issues were resolved, life was good (Not great, but good).  And then today came!!!!!  A new patch......

Now I can't land because the stuttering is so bad.  I can't have bum map on becuase it destroys my frame rate, even though I always Used to play with it on in patch 6.  Your patch to improve the game is making ppls games worse!  Everyone that plays the game that I know (Rook)  is having count issues with their frame rate.  And god forbid we cross from the ocean to the land in a 20+ plane fight because the game just locks up from the useless ocean bumps, that serve no purpose.

People are still having issues with your product. You may not hear about it because in these forums they tend to fall on deaf ears, and receive ridicule from those that are not effected by these updates, but let me assure you that we still exist.  Instead of focusing on adding more shrubs for eye candy, or increasing the frame rate of those that are already running the gamer in Hi-Def, why don't you focus on making the game more suitable for everyone, not just the elite few!?.......

Just a though....

I am beggining to think you must have already modified this post or am I way off here.

Whats so offensive?

Hes obviously a bit upsett but really

I am a service provider and I would have said:

"I understand your concerns and we are working on further up dates, please bare with us and I am sure all these issues will be resolved. In future could you E mail with your individual problems and issues and we will do our best to help you. Thanks for your continuing patience and support"

It's the 3rd paragraph... specifically these parts:

The fact that he did not give this canned response is one of the reasons I like HiTech :aok
