my school is run by nazis now... they were suspending people for not taking a test. it is the same exact test that we have taken every 9 school weeks for the last 3 years and they wonder why nobody takes it seriously...

as for drug dogs, now that i think about it, i havent seen any here but the middle school for some reason they get them like twice a year.

Same here, were not allowed to have any electronics in class, and this one kid was putting his away (he wasn't even in the class room yet) and the teacher saw it, and said "give it to me, your parents can come pick it up in the office after school" when the kid said "no, I'm just putting it away, I'm not even in the classroom yet" the teacher said "give it to me or your suspended".

ROFL. At my school that teacher would have been knocked clear on his arse. Unfortunately, because my school rarely utilizes the police department, the kids threat of violence against the teachers gives them control over the school.

I had a tiny school, they would bring in drug dogs maybe once a year, but it wasn't random.  You could bet they were spending a little extra time around 3 or 4 lockers trying to bust a couple guys.
LOOK EVERYBODY!  I GOT MY NAME IN LIGHTS!

Folks, play nice.

It's a bit different when there's Police Officers (not rent-a-cops ;) ) with Glocks and tasers in your school during school hours.

There's about 1,500 students at my High School IIRC but no, we don't have metal detectors.
My school district is so big that there's another similarly sized (bigger?) school in it.
It's not even the city's district :)

Twice the size of mine.

So, they have a parking policy, where if someone doesn't park in the area they're supposed to, they get one of those yellow car boots. Well, this guy named Nick, he has this HUGE green dodge, raised a good 8-12 inches, with huge bellybutton tires, and all last year, he parked in the lot for seniors, and they couldn't boot him for it. Well, THIS year, he's a senior, so, he parks there anyways, but just to make sure he won't screw up, the school spent 1100$$ on a specially made parking boot, just to boot his truck. When he already gets to park where he wants this year.  :lol

According to Wikipedia Central Dauphin High School has about 2,100 students and Central Dauphin East High School (my school) has about 1,595. Both are part of the Central Dauphin School District.
There's also 4 Middle Schools and 13 Elementary Schools in the district.

I'm with you Oakranger. OMG guess what, there was this under cover cop at our school, who looked like he was ATLEAST 30. Everyone knew he wasn't a student, well we didn't KNOW, but we could tell. Any way, his first 7 words to me were "know where I can buy some pot?". And later, one of the substitue teachers recognized him from a college course she used to teach.

I remember one of them when one time I was visiting my girlfriend (now wife's) school back in 1979 when she was a senior. Same thing. Guy looked like he wasnt a day under 30 trying to play the part of a student. Everyone was hanging aroudn outside in the back when he walked up and asked if anyone had any pot to sell.
Almost in unison everyone looked at him and started yelling/chanting "NARC! NARC! NARC!" and he walked away never to bee seen again.
Funny thing was. Back in those days he could have picked out anyone and stood a better then 90% chance they had something on them. and it would have ranged from anything from acid to Quaaludes. To date I know VERY few people who were teens in the 70's who didnt do something back then.

A few years later I was i a bar with a buddy of mine who had had a fewq run ins with this same cop. first time I'd seen him since that day.
We were all sitting aroudn drinking when he turns to me and said "I've gotten this guy a few times. And your his friend. how is it i've never nabbed you."

I said. "you were a narc assigned to EBVS a few years ago right"
"yes"
I said. "Well then the answer is obvious. Your too stupid to catch me at anything. And hes too stupid to not get caught even by you"

The private schools in the area aren't much better (or they're worse)

Don't get me wrong... nothing really happens. There's just a lot of precautions to make sure that nothing happens.

The couple of drug dealers I knew in high school all thought they were pretty smart, getting away with something.  I think they're mostly dead by now.

True dat. usually because they were selling to support their own habit which more often then not wasnt pot but Crank, coke, heroine. Etc.
I've lost alot of friends that way over the years. Hard drugs or alcohol.

On the flip side. back then two of the biggest drug dealers I knew 1 was a sherriffs officer and the other was the son of the local narcotics officer.

No idea what became of either of them though.
