Out of interest you guys are talking about 10 second cars.

My mazda 3 with its stock 2 L makes it to 100 in under 9 seconds.  :aok

100 what? 'cause it sure isn't MPH    :D
  From car and driver:

Equipped with the five-speed manual and the 2.3-liter engine, our tester did the 0-to-60 dash in 7.4 seconds, covered the quarter-mile in 16 seconds flat at 87 mph, and attained 100 mph in 22.8 seconds.

I had a tricycle, I got it so fast one day that the pedals came off and I couldn't stop. By the time I eventually stopped, the rubber of the wheels was softend to almost melting point. My sister was at the top of the hill laughing you head off and when it got to the bottom I booted it straight back up. Surprisingly it landed straight back on her neck...albeit the wrong way...but still quite amazing I thought.

Well...  My toy won't do 100mph in 10 seconds...  But it's certainly a lot of fun and not nearly so "common" as a Vette.  Fine Italian automobile...   :D

we can fix most of the problems that car has....it should only take a week or 2 to fit it with a nice smallblock chevy, and a nice 5 speed od.  :devil :aok

unfortunatly, it's too ugly to help it there......but it'll be so fast, that looks won't matter.  :aok

Thanks, it's an '83 but only has 37k original miles.  It's the third Fiat Spyder I have owned, and definitely the best condition.
