Thanks for the race route map.

Without seeing the individual air-gate LOD objects, my best guess is a PolyId=20007. Dump it.

Tried that....didnt change it either way, here is the first few lines of a single red cone with low/high LOD.

AC3Db
MATERIAL "ac3dmat1" rgb 1 1 1  amb 0.2 0.2 0.2  emis 0 0 0  spec 0.2 0.2 0.2  shi 128  trans 0
OBJECT world
kids 1
OBJECT group
name "str0"
loc 0 52.25 0
data 51
MaxDist=18000
DoNotCull=1
PolyId=20010
NoCollide=1

kids 2
OBJECT poly
name "high"
loc 0 0.75 0
data 49
MaxDist=6000
DoNotCull=1
PolyId=20010
NoCollide=1
texture "SNGLRED.bmp"
crease 45.000000
numvert 298
.....

See anything that may help?

Could you make a map for the course on the game. :joystick: :airplane: :old:

Here is a glitch for you to solve: going straight through the gate boundaries and not crashing. :aok

I saw the Blauk help you already with issue. I hope the new map is soon available for the public testing  :aok

One question for 3D designers
Is the AH material definitions changed? The Strip details shows just a
MATERIAL "ac3dmat1" rgb 1 1 1  amb 0.2 0.2 0.2  emis 0 0 0  spec 0.2 0.2 0.2  shi 128  trans 0

What happened to the 256 preset definitions material lines?

Thats probably something I am doing wrong so don't take my example at face value, just starting to dabble in them myself.

I copy/pasted them in and once I save the AC3D file only materials that get used are saved within the file.

I suggestion, make a bigger air strip. :airplane:

That is an interesting thought, though I don't see the attractiveness?

Unless your referring to size as in the amount of objects and land mass near the field. This is a test map, the only thing that will be reused is the layout. The objects had extra surfaces that should not have been there and drawing errors. After consulting with Blauk and implementing his thoughts I started from scratch on the models themselves. Not a big setback but what your seeing now is like the first drop of a rainstorm.

Here is a glitch for you to solve: going straight through the gate boundaries and not crashing.

Map is in the process, there is something unique and exciting planned for that.

The cones are set specifically so that they are not collide-able, unless you are referring to something else?

Not much brand new here but added more colors and made the objects more efficient, fixed the drawing issue and by mistake the cones are now collide-able. I would love to hear from anyone with lower end systems, especially from anyone flying on low detail. Same course map as before, yellow, orange, and green are any angle, red is knife edge, blue is wings level. Almost forgot to mention the cones are now 1.33 scale (133% larger than real life), previously they were 1.5 scale. The object are not quite in the same position but I put them as close as possible. In my sleep deprived state I accidentally over wrote the file with the course layout.

WARNING: When air starting the RV-8 pull back on the stick until the nose drops. Any other method will likely result in tail slide all the way to the bottom of the ocean.

My best time after only a few tries was 2:21, if anyone gets time I would be curious to hear their time and thoughts.

Oh boy...

This was taking some time... Finally I made a 1 complete run in time 3:08...Okey, some air-gate passing penalties maybe need to add  :lol
http://fdm4bge.1g.fi/Files/10001/AH/RB_AtLast.ahf

Very challenging and so rewarding when finally finished.  Good job :aok

Critic
Due open sea track, it was to me a very difficult to define altitude sometimes. Any near by islands / land mass would help a lot.

Glad to see you up and flying her Ex-Jazz, I agree with you that its pretty devoid of references. I originally built it as a personal test terrain for objects and course layout. Eventually I said what the heck and wanted to let people fly it. In the future we will have a bunch of objects and land masses in the surrounding area.

Thanks for the incites and compliments!

Yes, I understand your testing purpose. Thanks for the sharing.

By the way. Some pylons had the object collision On and some had it Off. I like more collision On, because it forces you to fly more carefully.

Oh, I wish our RV-8 have a more power to make a hard turning a real G-fest  :aok

Idea
What if you scale up the track so, it meets the Spit16, LA5FN etc WW2 planes turn radius better?
This could make this kind of pylon flying/racing more appealing for the AH2 folks.
