A very easy way to prevent country jumping would be to make it last all month, or at least the rest of the map.  I dont buy  the "change to the low side" story because usually within minutes other players log on and numbers get all messed up again.

why do we want to prevent people from country jumping?

i like to log to the low numbers side....or if i venture into the lw arena, i like to log to the country my squaddies are flying.......

best way to defend against fiters its to be low.  let them worry about diving into the ground and avoid the buff guns.

No it's not, any relative safety you think you gain by flying on the deck is only in your mind.

We dont use the mission planner so much any more, my opinion is to either ditch it or modify it to show the mission title and rides available only. Seen plenty of pilots shot down who were supposed to be in the country mission.

Spies do not win.  The player who shoots down the other player wins.

So very true! I switch countries, not to spy, but for the fights. Some people are just extremely paranoid about spies. I honestly dont understand their fear, because the chance of sabotage is rare in this game. The concept of spying is over-exagerated.

The Spy of the Year Award has to go to Nisr.  One day, after suffering numerous deaths at the hands of the Knights trying to sink our carrier, Nisr decided to 'get smart' and switch over to the Knights and report the location of our CV to his fellow Bishops.  Unfortunately for the Bishops, they didn't send over their most intelligent spy.  When Nisr was calling out the position of our CV, he kept doing it over country channel or open channel which kind of blew his cover.  We didn't lose the CV either and ended up taking the base he was trying to defend with his spying.

I'm still wondering what there is to spy in Aces High? The only thing I can even remotely think of that would be spying would be someone switching during a scenario to check up on what the enemy is doing. And I know that no AH scenario vet would do it or condone that behavior.

I love to country hop.  I usually steer clear of the HIGH numbers team, unless the squad is all on that team (which we usually switch if it becomes too unbalanced), but I dont always fly for the low #s.  I look for the best fights, and go there.  I also sometimes switch.. just to switch.  To fly with some new people, meet other folks etc etc.

Every country is the same.  By limiting yourself to only flying for one chess piece, you are limiting the enjoyment of flying with 2/3 of the people in this game.  And when it all boils down, we are a small community of folks who enjoy the same thing.  Why limit the folks you get to know?
