Thats an interesting point.  What are you searching for to get the past threads?

I didn't do the search myself...I just remember the changing list over reading the boards everytime this topic comes up.  I imagine "top sticks" or "best pilot" would work though.  For whatever reason when i do searches it is horribly slow.

BTW good job posting the tournament bracket...i do think that reveals some of the names i would be considering more then what made it up here. :aok  Wish I could see the bottom brackets....

I still like the KoTh format though because set merges are not as important and you can't have wingmen...a lot of times in a duel the best merge has a huge advantage.

Oh I HATED you.  Despised you.  With every fiber of my virtual being.

Could never find a way to best your LA7 for the longest time... the difference is that when you talked smack, I laughed. ;)  No one who bothers to type on 200 is even close to entertaining, anymore.

Course... I hated Skyrock, too, when I first saw that noob talking crap on 200 after returning from my two-year hiatus...  :D

I have heard by many many sticks that you are, always have been, and will always be the "best".
so one of these days we should get together and duel I would like to see what ya can do.

personally I know I am not on anyones list because I am by far the worst shot in game(or damn close to it), I have fought just about every one mentioned and have killed them all, some very easy some not so much, grizz has definitely killed me more, his aim is uncanny and SUNSFAN that cat is very good.  some names on peoples list I can kill easily 1 vs 1, no I am not chest thumping just stating facts, (I am confidant in my ability as a cartoon pilot)
I feel as far as ACM-SA-merge tactics I am very solid, I have killed 5 or more trying to kill me on more then one occasion, but it is after I am warmed up and shooting good, I know without a doubt there are very few in here that could do that .
Do I think I am the "best" nope, BUT from what I have heard(from very respectable sticks) YOU are so, I would enjoy a "test" of myself against you, if you are ever up for it let me know.

Well that's the thing about these type of lists, or any subjective list for that matter - it's all about who we encounter most or who stands out - a few are more or less agreed upon and the rest get all jumbled up.

My claim to making the list (in the past) was as equally attributable to my smack as much as it was my willingness to mix it up.

One of the nicest things anyone said about me in AH (and yeah, I've done my time helping, etc) was from Morpheus (and hoping his rehab continues):

"Shane is very consistent at being inconsistent and unpredictable.  You always have to stay on your toes with him.  Pay attention to the closure rate on merge – that will give you a good idea of his E.  You will get to know how fast the other plane is by how fast the distance meter is ticking down.  Again, something that will come with time and practice.  Any kill on Shane is hard earned and never given to you.  He always makes me work hard, and will always make you push your limits.  ~Morpheus"

I'll take  a compliment like that over making a list any day.

<edit: I'd trade it all for better gunnery.  :noid >

One person I haven't seen mentioned is Lengro. I think he's as good a pilot as any I've fought in the MA, or dualed, but I haven't seen him much lately.  :(
