Good to see ya got out and got some loving Rich - love sunsets and still being on the water. Even better if there are very few boats out there.

Dear God it was good to see and smell the North country again. I could have stayed up there for good and lived the rest of my life happily. Ive loved the outdoors since I was a kid.

Real good. I had a 6 lb to 8 lb class "eye" on the Hornet but lost the fish. The Hornet did nothing wrong, some big fish you just plain lose for no reason. We used mostly Lindy rigs and weights with big suckers as bait. Ive had walleyes hit hard but mostly they suck at a bait like a cat fish can and you have to give line for a minute or two after detecting a hit. Its fun using that old reel.

Ive pretty much always been a lure fisherman and/or troller. I keep a few to eat but wont kill a decent size fish. My brother caught and released a big Northern when I hooked the walleye so I had to play around with him a little longer then I would have liked to.

I'd recommend this lake to anyone. http://www.lakevermilion.com/

Glad to hear..... I know the feeling, I'd like to blame my equipment, and if it is something new and state of the art I'll consider it. But if it's on a good old fashioned piece of equipment that has caught hundreds/or thousands  of fish......it's definately not the equipment at fault  :lol

Glad you had a good time!

Sad day today, I wrapped the bass boat up for the winter.   :(

I haven't given up on the hope that I may still get the kayak out, but with deer season starting up next weekend the odds are getting kinda slim that I'll be doing any fishing till spring.

Hopefully in the mean time I'll run across this guy that I pulled off my trail cam today.   :)

Ive hunted critters all over the world but still think nothing beats a good deer hunt.

Most of all with bow. Just becoming one with the woods.

Picked up a first year (1962) Remington 700 today. Thing is flawless maybe had a box of ammo thru it in its entire existence, but I doubt even that much. Older lady down the street had it was her husbands. He bought new off the rack  for a hunting trip, but sadly before he could go was injured in a work accident, and could never go hunting again. My son and I pass her house when were walking home from checking our game cams at one of our favorite deer stands.  We got to talking and she started talking about her husband and how he loved to hunt. She invited us to come in and see his trophy collection. Well sitting in the gun case was this mint 700. She told me the story behind it and said if I'd like to buy it I'd be more than welcome to. Being someone that collects high end rifles I darn near fell over myself trying to say yes. Can't wait to get it out to the range this week. I guarentee it will be the one I take this year out in the field.  Hopefully I can get that deer her husband couldn't.Fingers crossed.

Rods n reels winterized  :(

I don't have any big game tags, too busy with nursing school, but I'll live vicariously through y'all. Good luck.

 :salute

Sounds like an incredible find Bailey, happy hunting with it.
They're casting their bait over there, see?
