Great pics and stories y'all.

Sorry I haven't dropped in here and commented more; thing is it gets depressing in the winter months and tuna fishing is my deal. Living in Phx, that makes it possible for only a few trips a year.

Someday I'll get back into territory where I can hike into some alpine lakes like I used to in CO and catch some trout that are rarely seen by most. That's my second favorite.

Looks/sounds like a lot of you know how to make chicken salad out of you know what. Good on ya as they say.

With bluefin in the counts out of San Diego, plans are being made in the back of my mind. The albacore have been non-existent out of SD for many years now; I guess the pelagic environment is just not right for them at the moment. Albacore aren't the hardest fighting tuna, but they sure are lots of fun and fantastic eating fresh.

Here's to tight lines, sharp hooks and good times!

They're casting their bait over there, see?

Went on a Marathon Black Sea Bass trip on Friday....took home my limit...15 huge knotheads. They are one of my favorite fish to eat.  It was basically drop and reel fishing all day.....I was using a Hi/Lo rig and at times was hooking up with 2 at a time. One time reeling in....I thought I was stuck on the bottom, come to find out I had 2 5lbrs on the rig, one wanting to swim one way and one the other........It was nuts. By 4:00pm my body was so sore from reeling I gave up.........Nice being to exhausted to fish.

Ate them last night......still full.

If you want to see what one looks like, go to around 2:11 in this clip.....that and theres good pics on Google images. I haven't had a chance to upload my pics

Decided to do some Jetty fishing yesterday for some Fluke (summer flounder)

Pretty slow day picking short non keeper fish. Legal size is 18"   Ours were all 17 3/4.....until this guy bit my sons pole

27 1/2" and 6 1/2 lbs.  Thing is a monster flounder. Local park ranger said its the biggest taken off the Barnegate Light Jetty this yr.  Nice catching one where you don't need to even get out the tape measure     :D

Nice. Are those as good eating as Halibut are supposed to be?  I'd love to go to AK and try for one of those big bastards sometime.

Guy we fish with writes for On The Water magazine.....he's gonna get the editor to include my boys pic in the next edition.....I'll post it up when I here more.

Nice.  Had about the best day of the season today out floating around this little backwater with a friend.  Ended up with about a dozen pike a piece most in the 28-31 range and one bass each.  All fish except my bass caught on buzzbaits and frogs.  Had god knows how many that either whiffed or ended up getting off.  My hands are diddlying shredded.

Pretty neat.  Have you been chasing any pelagics this year?

Yep just got home from an onshore Bluefin tuna trip, caught 3 BFT, a White Marlin and a slew of Mahi.  Actually if you saw my post time, that's when I got up today to get out on the water. Tuna slammed our Ballyhoo......the Marlin was caught on a stretch (we were fishing for Tina when he hit) and the dozen or so Mahi we caught casting at bouys.   Was a great day on the water.  That said I'm exhausted

Just finishing up a small club tourney trail (6 tourneys, 40 odd boats per tourney). Stated ambition at start - not to come last in every single one. Managed a 5th place,  (20 dollars baby lol....) - last one monday (mostly retired people in the club), been a lot of fun, lots of banter at launch, weigh in etc.

Back in game - got called a noob lol, that made me laugh a lot.

We had a nice excursion in the gulf out of Orange Beach the week after 4 July.  We limited on Red Snapper and King Mackerel and caught a few bonitas too.
