You buggers are making me jealous - that said, got my eye on a nitro z6 (brand sparkly new) - been looking around for a boat for a while (18 months or so) wife has concerns about buying used etc. Dont really want to take the depreciation hit driving it off the lot, but hey ho, when you need a boat - buy the best you can afford.

Its bugs, baileys, richs, redtops, morfiends and all you other sod's fault  :D

Buy it Wurzel!   :)

Finally going to get to Lake Erie out of Buffalo this weekend, the icebergs are gone, to chase some smallmouth.

It's #3 in the top 100 Bass Lakes by bassmaster this year.   :x

Bug, how in the 7 shades of purple is that helping me out ya bastage  :D :D :D

That looks awesome by the way, definitely not helping with my jealousy problem - not sure when I'm gonna be able to get down the dealer, but wife is happy with that selection as well - intend getting an upgrade on the trolling motor (24v vice 12v) and adding a gps/fish finder to the bow (looking at the lowrance elite-5 HDI at the moment, might go with the 7 for the bigger screen - trolling motor mount it)

Wish I was closer, I need some experienced fishing partners snicker, got lots of experience fishing, not so much with boating at the same time.

Anyone got any tips?

Wurz if ya wanna check out the z6, link here http://www.nitro.com/boat/?boat=3607

Wait, so all it takes is for me to buy a boat - now you tell me ya bugger  :D

Wife doing the changing mind thing again, so told her she has till the end of June to find my boat, failure to do so will result in me going to bass pro and buying the z6. Anyone seen me nuts???? ;)

Saw a dogfish trying to pull a dead bluegill off the bank back into the water tonight.

I tried to help a brother out and see if he would eat from my hand but he wasn't going for it so I finally tossed it out a couple feet and he went to town on it.
To each their pwn.

You all make me so jealous...I love bass fishing, but here in Spain the only species we've got is the smallmouth bass, and it grows to a max of about 7 pounds. They're still a thrill to catch! In the summer I love fishing for trout in a lake near my house, and I take some trips to the river Ebro with friends to make the real big catches: siluro (silurus glanis, wels catfish). In Spain, thanks to the water temperatures, warm climate and carp populations they grow faster than anywhere else in the world. It's quite common to catch 70kg+ catfish, the record holder is about 90kg.

My favorite bass lures for the hot summer days are small, realistic crankbaits and soft or hard swimbaits, using quite a stiff rod and 0.24 line, about 10 pounds. For the catfish we use way bigger stuff, but I've still seen some rods flying into the river or snapped after an hour long fight  :uhoh

Now the eye candy

The lake near my house. It's about 4km apart, I usually get there cycling.

One of last summer's nicest catches. Notably smaller than american bass, still a ton of fun! This one fell for a Powerbait finesse shad, about 2''.

The windsurf board I used to get around the lake. It was stolen last summer.  :cry

Started from the bottom...still at the bottom.

Looks like you found a cool little place to get away. Doesn't matter the size of the fish or sometimes if they're even biting.

Reminds me a bit of a special place (to me) in northern Colorado.

Hemingway loved your country (the fishing too), he wrote much about backpacking in to trout spots iirc. Sadly I don't think most Americans know much about Espana, I don't...but my little brother is there at SLU-Madrid for the summer. I hope he's having the time of his life.

Trout fishing used to have quite a big following, but now most anglers go after bass or catfish. Still plenty of places to hook some nice trouts, rainbow and brown alike. My favorite lures are small crankbaits or earthworms at night.

Do you happen to have pictures of your special place? I love small lakes and ponds!

Some of the best places for bass and pike here are small ponds (200yards or so) surrounded by woods, and with a nice water level all year long. The catch is that many of those ponds are right in front of some guy's mansion, and if you get caught.... :uhoh A friend of mine got a 600€ fine for that, but hey, at least he's not spending it on drugs and hookers!

Last time we spent a day going pond to pond he ended up with birdshot in his left buttcheek. Me? I ran faster  :bolt:
