yes we call it swing bowling, and English bowlers are particularly good at it :rock

I'm not very familiar with baseball but I'd guess theres a bunch more different ways of delivering a ball in cricket due to the variety in pace, line, length, the ball's seam, the ability to bowl round the wicket, spin etc...

if you're a pitcher check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowling_(cricket) you might find it interesting :aok

Can a baseball player hit a tiny white ball 155 yards turning it almost 90 degrees in the air and land said ball to 9 feet from a designated target?

a ball which ... isnt moving.

can a decent batsman place a ball in a 18' circle 150yd away? sure. the difference is the ball is hard, weighs 6oz and is travelling at 90mph when he hits it ...

Long distance shooting.  Try hitting 10 for 10 at 1000 yards on a bi-pod only and not using a bench rest.  Makes a 90 mph fast ball seem easy.

GOLF....that's just a form of sadism!

They call it "common sense", then why is it so uncommon?

I'd like to see Semp track a fly ball..  :D

what is so hard about it.  we are all born with the ability to catch things.  it takes a lot of calculations to figure out where a ball is going to fall when thrown up in the air and yet we dont think about it.  we are born with the ability to do it.  all we need is the ability to run to it.  and to be honest how many times does an outfielder catches a ball in a 9 inning game?  none? a couple?  those guys get paid a lot of money to look at the game from the infield.  most action is pitcher, catcher and some guy throwing it  to first base once in a while.

I still can hit a 90mph fast ball but I sure can't throw one anymore.

That's impressive.  A few years after I stopped playing, I couldn't hit anything with speed.  It was really disheartening.  Even at 41, I can still throw a bullet, but without the stamina of youth.  However with hitting, forget it.  The hand-eye coordination is just gone.  It kept me from going out for men's leagues.
