My Thoughts of this tragic incident goes to that entire community and the victims and their families.   :pray

I am having a hard time believing he acted alone.

...unless there's something in the details I've missed, what brings you to that conclusion?  Nothing I've seen about it would necessitate more than one person.

Who's going to run the metal detector, the 16 year old girl that usually collects the tickets?  If they install metal detectors in movie theatres because of this I will never see a movie again purely out of spite.

Ditto!  To bad there wasn't an armed citizen present to stop the guy.

What was there to detect?  He went in unarmed.  He then propped open an exit, went and retrieved his stuff from the parking lot, came back in the exit, then did his...deed.  How would a metal detector detect anything at that exit?

If anything the exit warning lights might have been ignored... or even disabled possibly.

Well if movie theatres had armed guards at all exits he wouldn't have been able to do that.  So I propose movie theatres have armed guards at all exits.

We put down vicious dogs and there are other animals that may need to be put down also. Not saying it would have stopped this lunatic but maybe some quick justice will make others think twice. 10 years on death row and lawyers talking BS has made our current Death Penalty ineffective.

The number of wrongful executions would increase greatly if your idea of "quick justice" were implemented.

How many wrongful executions are prevented per year under the current system?

A quick wiki search shows 140 since 1973, some posthumously.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_exonerated_death_row_inmates#United_States
I'd much rather have 140 innocent people survive (although, again, some were exonerated after execution) than "quick justice" be carried out.
