The effect of your propwash on your aircraft is modeled.

If you want the wake turbulence I wonder if it would be like everybody in view flying with airshow smoke on and killing your framerate. It would be cool if the average system could handle it, take offs behind bomber formations would be more exciting.

Shouldn't have much effect on frame rate as there is nothing to render.

Each PC would have to track wakes for each aircraft a given distance from the player. I'm just guessing this would require resources that could affect frame rate even if it's not visible and taking up graphic resources since frame rate is CPU as well as graphic card.

Since we're in the wish list and I believe I'm on topic..  Take for example the water detail & shadows and now reflections.  Holy crap!  If the water refletions just rendered detail within your view and shadows werent' so
demanding, we'd have a good little game going on.  Just noticing since the updates that HTC offers a lot of nice eye candy, but will never be viewed by low-end pc's like mine.
Probably don't make a lot of sense today, but I'm heading that way...

realism prop wash was the one thing that would make the game a little more challenging

Same reason an accurate flight model is important. It makes a better simulation.

we have no weather either.  but back to your op, if you look at a base with missions taking off, you realize what the effect of prop wash would be, specially in the cv's?  it would be sometimes nearly impossible to take off.  this has been suggested many times, but the frame rate hit would be huge as your cpu would have to keep track of several dozen prop wash around a furball.  and if given the option to disable it, then most would just disable it anyway.

it could be like the shakes while rolling on the runway, with less frequency and higher amplitude of random movements. I don't know if while on take off the shakes affect frame rates though.

I am just curious, if we get prop wash and 30 planes spawn on the runway, will the one in the back get blown back like a rage doll with all that turbulence, or will it take off like a helicopter?
