funny thing is that in the logs on frame 2, i got credit for 18 things destroyed......but in my text buffer, it said i sunk the ship,. i didn't worry about who got credit, 'cause all that mattered to me was that our objective was accomplished....that being that we sunk it.

Not a very CM-like thing to say Cap. Very condescending this.

He had a simple question. No need to bash him and call him egotistical or selfish because he wants his credit. Even if he is, CM's arent allowed to talk that way right? And if your intentions were different than what I interpreted you need to do a better job at leaving no room for interpretation, because you are a CM.

any word?

Sorry BC21, been a little busy since FSO ended and was away all weekend on top of that. Checking into it.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

in the shots from the film here, the very first thing mentioned is a structure, which i believe to be a ship. perhaps by adding these, it gives the guys working on this stuff something else that may help them figure it out.

No worries CAP, he just fancies himself as a Richard.  Funny how a few people these days convince themselves that they are the cure and not realise they are truly the disease.

Well if I believe the news we'll all be dead in the morning?   :)

So far just windy and wet, hope it stays that way.  Although they are talking about Lake Ontario getting whipped up to 20 ft. waves, that would be incredible to see.

Seeing as how you are still posting down in NJ I'd say our prospects up here are looking pretty good.

Nope.

I just did a test offline. Each destroyer in the TG has one "Structure"...when I detonated it, I found out it's the radar mast and the flag on the bow.

I've seen "structure destroyed" before, but not in logs. I believe they are the generic structures at bases that are basically eye candy that don't really do anything. If something can be destroyed that actually does something, it's named: guns, barracks, fuel, ammo, hangar, etc.; and that's what is recorded in the logs. But...it's only a guess.

I think you're on the right track there Dot.

Here's a shot of a small airfield fuel bunker. Each fuel bunker has three "structures" around it. There are other structures...the little shack at the rearm pad, the indestructable hangar, other little buildings/shacks, etc.

My guess (like I stated earlier) is that they probably don't impact the base's operations if they're down, so probably don't count much (if any) towards score, and are probably why they are not recorded in the logs.  Lots of "probably's", but the reasoning seem solid.  ;)

well, last i looked, it was still about 50 miles offshore. it's supposed to have hit atlantic city around a half hour ago(8pm). the last path i saw shown took it slightly south of milleville, which is about 30 or so miles from me, then across to pa, then north to the lake, and into canada.

lights have flickered a lot. i'm shocked we still have electricity here. hope it stays on.

In regards to ships you get several messages when damaging them. There are several things on a ship that can be destroyed and since they are so closely packed together many times one bomb hit will generate several destroyed object messages (as seen in Cap's screen shots). When you sink the ship you get a separate message in stating that you sunk the ship and it is recorded in the raw logs. A ship is not recorded as a structure when it is destroyed (its recorded like this F84SHP005 ... Fleet 84, 5th ship sunk). Although as ImaDot pointed out ships do have structures (I forget how many per ship type).

Bases have several objects that have an object type of "structure." These can be destroyed but as far as I remember off the top of my head they really have no impact on the performance of a base. They are also not reported in the raw logs which is why they are not in the Events logs (at least I never had an occurrence of a structure object being reported in the raw logs when I worked on FSOs couple years back). So it would be possible for you to get an object destroyed message for one but not for it to show up in event logs.
