Surviving a fire?
« on: January 22, 2013, 10:12:06 PM »
Is it even possible to survive a fuel fire? Seems like a wing comes off or you explode every time. I'd be curious to see how it would affect gameplay if fuel fires had a third possibility of major damage but not total damage.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Hmm....which begs the question, was it like so in RL or is this a gameplay balance decision?

Are we speaking as a hypothetical or in real life?

Stop. Drop. Roll.

If that doesn't work, pee on it, but only if you've been drinking. It won't put out the fire, but it will end your misery faster and give us all a good laugh as we watch you running around in flames.

I don't know how that works, can you please demonstrate?  :D

It is a game decision.

In real life multi engine planes were often able to extinguish the fire and RTB with one engine less. Even mosquitoes survived engine fires many times, so there was no wood-burns-faster-than-metal problem.

That doesn't sound pleasant at all. Why would you suggest someone to do that?
