George "Buzz" Buerling,  shoot down 27 Axis aircraft in just 14 days over Malta.

for the purpose of the achievement make it 27 Spit V kills in a day.   "Knight of Malta"

I'm going to use wikipedia as a reference:

shouldn't we have some kind of addition to some of the  achievments already here........like 352 kills in a luft fighter WITHOUT GETTING KILLED!........that sort of thing...as many of these achievments can be performed by constant repitition.......get a kill, die, get a kill, die, get a kill die.  Some should be...get the achievemnet...AND NOT DIE wile performing the task.     AND OF COURSE THERE SHOULD BE A FW190 WALTER NOWOTNY ACHIEVMENT.

Personally I don't like the idea of K/D based achievements, its just another reason for players to fly timidly.

This is the reason I haven't suggested such despite instinctively thinking things like Hartman's should be done without dying or being captured.

"Six bombers in four (or five) minutes."

During Winter War on 6th of January 1940 Finnish Air Force Lieutenant Jorma Sarvanto intercepted a Soviet bomber formation returning from bombing raid on Finnish city Kuopio and shot down six of them down in 4-5 minutes. Eventually the whole eight plane formation was destroyed.

"This feat received tremendous publicity in the world press, who considered it a world record at the time. Most major Western newspapers published a photo of Lt. Sarvanto holding a large greased sheet of aluminum with a big "5" on it, a trophy from one of the victims."

shouldnt Hartmanns 352 be in just 109Fs, G2s and G6s? maybe make it G6 only.  German fighters to me, suggest 190s,262s etc... (shrug)

Agree, only 109 G's and the K (He did never fly the F or other 109's in combat)

I got my 'Hartmann' almost exclusively for kills in the Me 163, Me 262 and Ta 152H. He never did fly any of these in combat  :old:

He did fly them as part of his instruction, but he never had any combat in them. (He also did fly even earlier versions of the 109). Keep in mind he joined the frontlines only in fall 1942. By that time JG 52 had already converted from the 109F to the 109G.
