Thanks to Tex for the better shots of the Yak-3 (He's a vol there - no rope stops him.  ;))

Green and grey Yak, how unique and purty.

Is that an early-model Texan/Harvard in those pictures?  Never seen one before with fixed gear or such an extended engine cowl.

I am putting Oct. 12th on the calendar for the Cavanaugh. Anybody else play darts?

Ah hah, a Valient.  Thanks Arlo.  Texas is a little too far for a weekend excursion for me, although I might get out there sooner or later with one of our planes to Midland.  Speaking of wich, and October 12th (and 13th), I think the CAF "Airsho" is going on in Midland, TX.

My great uncle was the tail gunner in "How boot that." I went down to see the plane a few years ago. It was a great experience  and I got to go inside and see where my uncle flew his 70 missions out of corsica. I wish I still had the pics from inside.  :bhead

Ok, Texas, put it on your calendar! The next great Cavanaugh Furball will be at 1:00pm on Oct. 12th. I'll be there to provide volunteer support. I have permission from the director to access the hangar where the He111 is currently stored. It is not on display so this is a unique opportunity!

Holy moly, Tex, you rock. It's details like this that turn a low-key thing into a special event. Thank you.  :)

The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

I made a thread in the o'club about it but thought it would go well here also.  This upcoming weekend (10/3-10/6) the CAF Airpower Expo will be hosted at the Collin County Regional Airport in Mckinney, TX.  Tex78 probably already knows about it since FiFi and Diamond lil are going to be there. This article mentions free cockpit tours of the B29 and B24 with normal admission to the show ($15-25). Just a ten minute drive from my house, you can bet I will be there.
