Good for you....addict.

I have a camera question:  What are decent settings to use to take a portrait pic and have the object in focus and the background blurred?  Those look cool.  All my pics have everything "kinda" focused or in focus but background less in focus.

The aperture (f stop) will determine what is in focus (technically the depth of field). There are many variables to this including distance between the person and the background, focal length of the lens and aperture setting. Personally (I am not a professional, so please experiment) I would say that using an f-stop between f/8.0-4.0 would be sufficient. If you go any lower than f/4.0 you will lose focus on the person (their ear could be out of focus for example). Place the focus pipper on the eye of the person you are photographing. Good Luck.

Hey Changeup, you need a large aperture so around f2.8 but it will depend how close you are to the subject in focus and then how far the background is behind them.   If you fill your frame with the top half of a person then have the background at least two times the distance you are to the subject you should get the background out of focus.  Depends on the lens too :P

Damn and I was having a good day, well now it's gone down the drain.

lol I only ever came across you once in game xbrit .. saluted you many times which you never returned and because you lost on that occasion you clearly hold a grudge.  I am sorry for the way you feel, all I can say is see you in the game for some good fights :) <S>

Now I don't have to worry about the late night (my time) Rook P-38 for the moment.

You came back and saved my hiney from that 109 this morn, so for that and the fact that Bailey holds you in high regard, I'll put our past in the rear view mirror. I've not known Bailey to be wrong about anything...If you didn't know there was a "past," well then disregard lol.

 :salute

Wow you almost made that sound like they were even 1 v 1 fights and that it was you that got the kill, both times you and Wrath came in with alt and at the end of the second one Ductape came in to join you both. Oh yes, you were RTB'ing because your ammo was used but had waited until he was within range before pulling away. Even with two of you it took a real long time for Wrath to get the kill both times. Shame your a Nit now was enjoying my stay there.

Cripes mate get over it .. we were winging.  I never shot you, yet you have this almighty grudge lol.  I am sure as hell you would have done exactly the same.  I was helping my wingman, so sorry.  I repent, I am such a bad virtual pilot.  I will surely come down and play the spit 16 game next time so you surely get a kill.  Then I can up and up and up again in a fat heavy slow 38 and fly in front of your spit.. is that what you want?

I suggest two things to you sir, do not get caught low at an enemy base and most importantly don't fret over something so trivial. This is the last I will comment on this subject.

Aren't you in The Few .. I thought they were good players and when shot down didn't whine for months about it .. The ironic thing is I never shot you down, so why attack me !!

Good explanation Eeyore but it depends on the look one is going for, I often use f2 to deliberately put everything past the cheek bones out of focus :)
