Some guy out of the blue PM ed me and politely asked if he could join my Spitfire on my next sortie   "to see how it is done"

I said OK,   then went out and killed 9 guys reversing one after the other and annihilating them with snapshots and barrel roll defences.   All he saw was total ownage of piecemeal horde monkeys.

I went and plonked it on the runway and ever since then I've had Midway!

I do all my gaming from a boat.

(Image removed from quote.)

Seriously?  If so, very cool.  While I don't have a sailboat, my other passion beyond my gaming rig and AH is my 2002 SeaRay Sundancer 240 I keep on Lake Norman, NC.   Nice for a small cabin cruiser...still looks nearly brand new and runs as well as the first day it came off the lot.  Roomy too...but I don't think I could get my gaming rig on it.  :D

Just noticed this, so apologies for the late post / reply.

I am returning to aerial combat MMOGs for the first time in 9 years. I left IEN's Warbirds in 2004 due to the constant bickering and poor customer service.

Welcome, Blinder!  Here, you will find excellent customer service . . . and bickering.  ;)  I guess larger online communities of enthusiasts always involve some bickering.  Here, there are a lot of folks who are very welcoming of new players and everyone (even the rude, obnoxious players) wants more new players.  If there are folks who rub you the wrong way, please ignore them and know that they don't represent everyone here.

My handle ("Brooke") is my first name, picked as my handle back in 1988 in Air Warrior, when I didn't really know what a handle was.  Since picking it back then, I got known as that and then didn't want to change it thereafter.

You know, I do have to say that what I saw was an amazingly inspirational sight to behold. All that haven't had the privilege to see what I saw, the complete and total unadulterated annihilation of anyone that Bruv looked at with his guns in the middle of a furball with cons all over the place and near him, and him moving like an expert gymnast in that mass, to then leaving it guns empty, then still encountering a P38 who he quickly reversed, scared off, and then landed his nine victories not counting the P38, as just another sortie, was... well... further words escape me.   :O

Let's just say it was one of the most rewarding and inspirational events I have personally witnessed.  :rock

Few realize just how skilled, experienced and talented pilots like Bruv are. Kazaa, Levi, some others.., we are very lucky to be amongst them in the skies of Aces High.

May many of you, one day, be as skilled, or at least appreciate the level of skill I have witnessed.  :aok

:salute FPH Bruv119,  :salute Sir, indeed.

glad you enjoy it Midway, i personally find it disgusting and dispiriting how good Bruv and many others are at this game!

they make it look so easy  :bhead it's not easy :(

for example, in last weekends first BoB frame, I was with Bruv pretty much the whole time. I managed to fly pretty well (by my low standards) and put rounds into 3 Emils and 1 Stuka, grabbing 4 assists without taking any hits myself throughout the whole frame.

Bruv, seemingly effortlessly, racked up 10 confirmed kills. It's not like we even got into any really big fights!  :headscratch:

he probably took a good solid dump before takeoff to make himself lighter in the air :old:

After now three years this month, I agree with you it is not easy, but it is possible, and like any expert at their chosen sport, I'm sure very rewarding to be at or near the top of the mountain.  Certainly is inspiring for me.

That's the best guitarist you could come up with for that sarcasm?  Youre fired.
I'm a Jedi Master in sarcasm. Go look in to the band histories and get back to me Ball4.

I'm so very sorry for your gain.

If you are approaching a rearm pad and see a warning on 200 stating that approaching the rearm pad will likely get you shot, try another one at the same base.

If you are approaching a rearm pad and see a warning on 200 stating that approaching the rearm pad will likely get you shot, try another one at the same base.

And when you (the shooter) are called out to man up and grab a plane then meet the shootee to settle the concern, please do so rather than log off  saying "You will die and I'm tired".

Still waiting on that duel, icepacker.  As a certain tatooed Muppet would say:  "The DA is that way ---->"

Be back Thursday.  Looking forward to it.
