Isnt that a Soviet hover craft ( I think it was called the Ekranoplan) that use ground effect stay airborne. I think read something about them a long time ago.

Yes, and it is also an airplane by definition as is the Hughes H-4 Hercules. Perhaps neither of them are able to leave ground effect, but that's the genius of the design as well. Either one operates stealthily and economically. The H-4 had the added benefit of having the ability to handle even the largest waves (non-tsunami) and still remain in ground effect.

It's a glorified hovercraft. nothing more ...and a JU87 is still an airplane and not a GV.

Ground effect craft fly, but only in ground effect.

Hovercraft do not fly. They only use the venturi effect in their rotors and props, where ground effect craft have a wing.
