Is there a "Schnaufer"?
« on: December 30, 2014, 03:57:14 AM »
Shoot down 121 British bombers...
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

My copy of 'Schnaufer - Ace of Diamonds' - signed by the men of JG 11.

A fighting man for sure - we should have this.

Glad you guys agree - I suppose one could stipulate that the victories be achieved in a German heavy fighter (I believe Schnaufer was a 110 jock, though I may be wrong).

That must book must have done some traveling.  :D  :salute
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

You're not kidding.  I lent it out to Hopper and that was the last I thought about it.  I have circulated enough books through groups to know not to hold my breath on their return.  Likewise was the case here.  Then it appeared back in my mailbox having circulated through several countries and most of the JG 11 gang.  What a surprise!  They kept it a secret the whole time - and now I treasure it of course.

Top shelf guys, all of them.

'Hartmann' is still here, though has reverted back to his original call sign.

'Hopper' currently out of the game - busy with his young family.  Hoping he returns soon.
