If you save your views and train your thumb the AH view system can be superior to TIR. Instead of breaking your neck trying look around canopy bars (or worse, TIR interference) your head is already in the best spot. :aok

Just use TR 2-axis mode and inherit all of the saved head positions giving you back those extra buttons for other crap.

Well our DA "canyon fight" session was mostly 3v3 or 4v4 engagements (or started that way), and then those odds flip as guys go down.  But I get your point about the importance of SA (and track IR should help once you climb that learning curve).

I have noticed that you are less inclined to fly below multiple cons and try to climb under fight than you were earlier on.  Realizing how much E you need to enter with and maintain during a fight in certain aircraft against multiple cons is part of that learning process as well.

Ryno

yup you are right there ryno  learning to control e was and still is at times the hardest part. but im getting pretty good in the spits untill there are 3 or 4 on my 6 lol. a lot of times i like to go into a fight at 10,000 minimum but everybody else is so low i have to come down just to see them.
1 Of these days you will regret shooting me down.

:O Didn't know it would do that! But now I'm missing the forward view for getting around bars right in front. :(

No neck breaking is required, the profile can be configured such that very small head movements generate large movements of your head.  The trick of course is to learn to control it.   :)

It only works in 2-axis, yaw and pitch mode. So set your hat switch views <hps file> to the best you can get and live with it. I have for 12 years with occasional experiments with 6-axis. Six axis reveals why many fighters had rear view mirrors. I doubt seeing around the bars matters as much as you have convinced yourself it does.

It's like a player I once knew who was vehemently convinced he could only shoot down other planes using some strange gunsight he was given years ago by an old friend who taught him the game. Lost his hard drive one day and the only copy of it he ever had. Once he was up and running, he used the <default.bmp> gunsight and never missed a shot.

Same theme goes on and on since I've been in this game back in 2002. Players are convinced something will only work for them in their own special and unique way. Because the fear of loosing is greater than the risk of something new or different.

 :huh

So you're telling me it's not important to keep my eyes on the guy in case he changes direction or something?

So I found out that if you hold forward view TIR pitch and yaw becomes had position up/day and left/right, pretty cool. :aok
