Thanks, maybe I'll give that a shot Friday night. I didn't have to do any of that look down stuff in ah2, which is what I was going for. It looks like the new fov and dark gauges prevents that all around.

I kept it on default for sometime to give it a chance.  93 FOV is what I use now and did in AH2.  In a 38, anything below 93 can leave a larger band of sky not covered when say looking back and up using Trackir.

Shooting is good without zooming at 93.  93 gives a good view of the instruments.

If you aren't already using the forward view you can set it to look at the instruments and map it to a button. The "forward" view is mapped to keypad 8 by default and it's an alternate front view.
I like to set the forward view as a up/left so I can partially see around the nose.

If you use modes you can toggle the forward view between over the nose and gauge views.

You can also use modes to set over the nose to up/right in case they turn the other way.  :aok

On the clipboard controller setup page copy mode 1 to mode 3.

Then set a button in mode 1 to switch modes to mode 3.

In mode 3 set the same button to switch modes back to mode 1. Make sure you select mode 3 on the clipboard controller setup page.

Now you have a button that toggles between 2 different stick mappings.

Map whatever changes you want to mode 3. Again make sure you select mode 3 on the clipboard controller setup page

The buttons you don't change in mode 3 will be the same as in mode 1 because you started by copying everything over.

You can also set different stick scalings for each mode so you can easily compare scaling with no scaling or different scale profiles.

Modes are a nice feature.  :D
