I've never been good enough to get a rage pm.   :cry

I've gotten a couple over the years.  I've been accused of cheating a time or two too, but I think they were on 200.

That's how you know you've done something good.

As to the OP, squelch early, squelch often.  IMO cross country communication is a good thing, but my skin's pretty thick so that might be a factor.

It makes a fair bit of sense to me to have an option for "Guy sent you a PM.  Do you want to see it?" type functionality for people who don't want to see rage PMs.

If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.

The text side of it is easy enough to ignore but when someone tunes vox to you and screams in you ear is a bridge too far.

Sure you can squelch anyone but that doesnt stop it before it happens, and you can only squelch after the fact.

Maybe a popup for that side of things would make it somewhat better. Text pm's are not the same thing as having a player yell obscenities in your ear. I know it's happened a time or 3 to me in the past so I support the OP's wish. I dont want to see private vox stopped, just a warning or notice if you will before hand.

I like the idea that it would be similar to the join feature.

   YMMV!

If a player is a problem he should be reported. The report feature is on the roster for your convenience. Then HTC can see if it's friendly taunting, an occasional bad day situation, or if it's a toxic player that would improve the game by leaving.

To add to FLS' above post, when a player feels it a need to report another player that is or might be being abusive, the player doing the reporting should right-click the abusive player's gameid and click both the .report text and also right-click the .report voice, if they are doing it over Vox!

If I remember correctly, as guncrasher/semp posted earlier, you should use the 2 report options quickly,  because it does trigger a flag to record/copy the text buffer something like 10 to 15 minutes before the report through 10 to 15 minutes after the report....best I recall from how HTC explained it years ago....during one of the many many other threads started, just like this thread...
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

I got text muted one (tipsy) Thanksgiving for my *Gobble Gobble* macro. It was temporary and well deserved.  :salute
