A "Battle of Britain" TFT runs on June 11.

This has been huge fun for bomber pilots in the past.

Come on in for the fun!  :aok

Runs noon to 9 pm Eastern US time -- show up when you want, play when you want.

More details and registration is here:

The battle is in 3 phases.

Phase 1 (noon to 3 pm Eastern), we are in Ju-87's going after ships.
Phase 2 (3 pm to 6 pm Eastern), we are in He 111's going after coastal airfields.
Phase 3 (6 pm to 9 pm Eastern), we are in Ju 88's going after London.

All of it will be a blast.

We have Bf 109E's and Bf 110C's protecting us.

Spit I's and Hurri I's (with their .303 machine guns) are trying to get us.  The 303's make it more fun for us bomber folks, as 303's aren't all that powerful.  We get into long-running gun battles, as you can see in the Youtube video above.

Just apply sufficient centrifugal force.  :)

I remember that one.  If I recall correctly, I made it on the list of most aircraft shot down during the event, and probably friendly (tudza).  :D  :uhoh  :noid

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

I'll try to be there, but keep in mind that my gunnery was severely hampered when we went into AH3.  I've tried everything, but I just cannot get my guns to move as they did in AH2.  It's one of the primary reasons I am rarely on now.  I'm still reasonably confident in my bombing ability though, so there is that at least.  :aok

elaborate on this please?
A yappy back seater like Jester wasn’t popular or fun to fly with, more of an unnecessary distraction than anything else---Puma44

Sluggish and not as quick to respond.  Easiest way to see the difference is to fire up a copy of AH2, then fire up AH3.  I've put a hell of a lot of time into bombers, as that is pretty much the only things I flew, constantly hitting the "Mega City".  Naturally I was intercepted numerous times doing it.

During AH2 my biggest complaints were: 1) Couldn't have my bombs continue to salvo out if I jumped into my guns to defend myself; 2) Strats being resupplied back to 100% even before I left red territory.

Despite those complaints, I was still having fun.

When AH3 hit, my guns just would not move as they did in AH2.  I've messed with every setting I could think of, and still could not get them to cooperate.  Ultimately I just stopped logging in, only popping on every now and again.  The last time I clearly remember logging in was when the Ju-88 was updated.  I think I logged in once or twice after that?  :headscratch:  Trouble remembering... :o

Account is still very much active though, and despite the gunning issue, I'm actually giving serious thought into joining in on this BoB Snapshot.  It will depend on how the week plays out. :)
